The tweet was one of two shared by the Deadpool star, who also posted a throwback snap of himself as a child with his own father, James.

The actor has developed a reputation for sharing comical insights into his life as a parent on social media.

Updating his Twitter account in 2016, he wrote: 'Being a father is the single greatest feeling on earth. Not including those wonderful years I spent without a child, of course.'

In another, posted in 2017, he joked: 'My daughter gets so pumped watching Disney films. She loves that they all have singing, dancing and a part when the parents die.'

Playfully joking about his parental responsibilities in a third, he wrote:  'On our 6am walk, my daughter asked where the moon goes each morning. I let her know it's in heaven, visiting daddy's freedom.'

Speaking to MR PORTER's Journal in May, Ryan credited wife Blake with helping him mend his strained relationship with his dad before he died in 2015, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

'She has a gift for foresight,' he said, adding that as part of the reconciliation, the couple named their first daughter James in his honour.

'It felt right,' explained the Canadian-born actor, adding: 'All family relationships come with some complications. For better or worse, all roads lead to here.

'At the end of the day, it’s easier to focus on the good stuff than the bad. My father died soon after my daughter was born, but he got to see her, which makes me happy.'
