Sean Penn got to spend some quality time on Father's Day with his eldest child Dylan.

The Hollywood heavyweight and his model-actress daughter were spotted just as after they got out of their car in Malibu and headed to a nearby home on Sunday.

It wasn't just all about daddy-daughter time; the 57-year old actor-director also brought along his dog for the outing.

Sean stuck to his usual fashion choices; opting to dress down in faded black jeans and flip flops along with a t-shirt and a navy blue quilted jacket.

Dylan also kept it pretty casual in black jeans, a white stripped long sleeve shirt and white sneakers.

She wore her blonde hair in a ponytail as she carried a jacket in her arms and walked along alongside her famous father.

Dylan started off modelling and eventually branched out to acting.

One of her first jobs as a model was a campaign for Gap in 2013. She has also appeared in GQ, W, Elle and Maxim.

Her acting career includes the horror film Condemned and Elvis & NIxon, which starred Kevin Spacey.

Her famous dad has had an illustrious career as an actor, writer and director. He has won two Academy Awards for his roles in the mystery drama Mystic River (2003) and the biopic Milk (2008).

Sean also shares a son Hopper, 24, with his ex-wife Robin Wright.

The former couple are not on the best of terms since their 2010 divorce and rarely speak to each other.

Speaking on Marc Maron's 'WTF' podcast in March, Sean said: 'We don't have a lot of conversation. We don't not get along.' He added, 'We have very separate relationships with our kids at this point and it's better that way because they are making their own decisions. As it turned out she and I did not share the same ethical views on parenting, including the continuing parenting of adult children.'

The Milk actor believes it has worked better for their children that he and Robin keep their distance from one another.

Sean moved in with House of Cards star Wright following the end of his marriage to Madonna in the late 1980's.

The couple welcomed Dylan in April 1991. Hopper followed two years later in August 1993.

Penn and Wright separated in 1995 but then reconciled after a few months and married in April 1996. Wright put her acting career on old to raise their children away from Hollywood.

They filed for divorce in December 2007 but later called off proceedings. In April 2009, Penn filed for a legal separation from Wright but once again got back together.

In August 2009, Wright again filed for divorce and this time it was finalized, becoming official in July 2010.

Penn was most recently engaged to Charlize Theron before the couple called it quits in June 2015.
