The daughters of the Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson arrived by carriage, along with the Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Anne.
Also there were the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex - with Harry's new wife Meghan making her Royal Ascot debut.
The royal gathering came as it was announced today the Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall has given birth to her second daughter.

Her younger sister, who will marry Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in October, was top to toe in designer labels, accessorising her kimono-style frock with Valentino shoes, a striking Emily London hat, and a bag by M2 Malletier.
Also in attendance today was their cousin Prince Harry's bride, the new Duchess of Sussex, who turned to her wedding dress designer, Givenchy, for her first appearance at Royal Ascot.

Be like Beatrice in a Claire Mischevani blue lace dress
Princess Beatrice has joined the rest of the family at Royal Ascot today looking lovely in lace.
Sitting alongside sister Eugenie, she stunned in a blue lace jacquard dress by Claire Mischevani, a custom hat by Juliette Botterill, and pumps by Kurt Geiger.
The British couture designer is a popular one with the Royals, having previously dressed Zara Phillips and Beatrice on numerous occasions, and this knee-length dress ticks all the boxes when it comes to tailored trends suitable for a royal outing.

The Duke of York did not join his daughters at the races on Tuesday, but over the weekend Princess Eugenie shared a sweet throwback snap of the close-knit trio to mark Father's Day.
Eugenie, 28, posted a cute black-and-white picture showing her and Beatrice, now 29, giving their father a peck on the cheek.
In the snap - believed to have been taken in around 1993 - she and her sister are both wearing matching collared dresses and bows in their hair.
A young Eugenie, thought to be about three at the time, can be seen giving her father a kiss, while Beatrice, who was about four at the time, looks up at her father, about to do the same.
