World Cup volunteer gives Sweden a boost in training as he belts out their national anthem before receiving a round of applause from the players

  • Sweden are gearing up for their second group stage clash against Germany
  • The Scandinavians got off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win over South Korea
  • Their training session on Wednesday morning was interrupted by a volunteer
  • He sang the country's national anthem, Du Gamia, Du Fria, over the tannoy

Sweden were given a pleasant surprise during their training session on Wednesday morning when their national anthem was sung over the tannoy system.

The squad were preparing for their next Group F encounter against Germany when the PA system buzzed into life.

Players looked on confused to begin with as a World Cup volunteer began belting out Du Gamia, Du Fria in a bid to spur on the Scandinavians.

And once they realised what was going on, the players began to see the funny side, a few of them laughing as they went about their warm up.

So impressed were Janne Andersson's players that they afforded the make-shift classical musician a round of applause when he had finished.

Sweden will be looking for all the extra motivation they can get as they prepare to face the holders in Sochi on Saturday evening.

They got their own tournament off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win over South Korea, courtersy of Andreas Granqvist penalty.

Following Mexico's shock victory over Germany, Emil Forsberg and his team-mates could potentially put the Joachim Low's side out of the competition, in what would be a major shock.
