Fire at pub between London King's Cross and Euston stations sends dozens of drinkers fleeing into the streets as smoke pours into the sky

A huge blaze has broken out at a London pub sending drinkers running into the street.

Half of the roof and 20 per cent of the first floor of the Somers Town Coffee House gastropub has been engulfed in flames.

Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters were called to tackle the fire at the popular venue on Charlton Street between King's Cross and Euston stations.

Drinkers - some still carrying their glasses - were seen running into the street after the fire alarm sounded.

Shocking footage shows plumes of smoke billowing from the roof of the pub, which has three floors.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known and there are no injuries reported at this stage. 

A spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade confirmed they were called at 8.06pm this evening and the blaze is now under control.

She told MailOnline: 'It is a public house of three floors, measuring 20 by 15 metres. 

'Fifty per cent of the roof and 20 per cent of the first floor are alight.'
