Lu fled but was arrested after a two-day manhunt at a Niagara Falls food court around 7.45pm on Saturday.

Texas college student left paralyzed after gunman shoots her in face

Jamie Hogland, 19, a student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, was left paralyzed from the shoulders down after alleged gunman Shawn Patrick Layton (center) shot her in the face last December. The psychology major was alone in her apartment in Stephenville, when she responded to a loud knock on the door of her second-floor apartment at 10pm. The Layton pulled the trigger within seconds sending a bullet through her jaw and tearing her spinal cord before fleeing the scene. She was left lying in a pool of her own blood for three hours before neighbors heard her cries for help. Police told her they believe the shooting was a case of mistaken identity over 'drug-related issues.'
