Algeria has been accused of expelling thousands of migrants without food or water and forcing them to walk, sometimes at gunpoint, under a blistering sun before being left to die. Pictures show migrants coming over the horizon by the hundreds under temperatures of up to 48C. Officials from the International Organisation for Migration have warned of a looming 'catastrophe'. A European Union spokesman said the EU was aware of what Algeria was doing, but that 'sovereign countries' can expel migrants as long as they comply with international law. Algerian authorities refused to comment.
Malaysian mosque bans tourists after video of two women doing a 'sexy dance' outside goes viral
The video shows the women, dressed in shorts and crop-tops, dancing on a low wall outside the main mosque in the city of Kota Kinabalu, in Borneo Island's Sabah state. Residents and local Muslim groups were incensed by the women's risque moves, and the mosque, which is renowned for its beautiful blue and gold dome and ornate minarets, has now banned all tourists. The nationality of the women in the video, who are of East Asian appearance and believed to be foreigners, is not clear.

The annual event sees some 500 people take part in a one-night boat trip - although this year's numbers were slightly diminished due to the Germany vs. Sweden World Cup match on Saturday. Attendees, who had paid 65 euros for a ticket, were dressed up in various attire, including head-to-toe latex, horse masks and eye-wateringly tight corsets.

Builder Charlie Birch (left and right), 39, from Powys, Wales, was walking home after a night out with a 32-year-old friend when he was struck along a road near the resort of Paphos (inset), Cyprus. Mr Birch, a father-of-two who was on a family holiday, was pronounced dead at the scene, on Peyia-Ayios Georghios road, while the younger man was taken to hospital in Paphos with non life-threatening injuries. The hit-and-run, at about 2.30am on Sunday, is said to have taken place after the two men had tried to intervene in a row between a man and a woman in a bar in Coral Bay. A 35-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, are now facing charges of premeditated murder.

The bodies of Gayle Anderson, 71, and her husband Charlie, 74, (left) were discovered 'partially burned' at their house in Mount Pleasant, Jamaica (inset) on Friday afternoon - local media reported. The couple, who had retired to Jamaica from Manchester, were also said to have sustained several wounds to the neck and face. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the couple had recently been defrauded of $8million Jamaican dollars (£50,000) by credit card scammers. Police are now appealing for help from the public in solving the crime. Gayle and Charlie had been married for 50 years (pictured right on their wedding day) and were described as 'hugely popular' by their sons.
