Hot off the surprise chart-topping hit This Is America, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover is heading Down Under.

Having previously named New Zealand as the recipient of his second-ever PHAROS festival in late November, the announcement seemed inevitable.

A few weeks before his experimental music and art showcase comes alive across the Tasman Sea, Glover will drop into Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra.

This is Australia! Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, has confirmed his 2018 headline tour dates Down Under, including shows in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney

On Monday, the Californian was announced as the headline act for the Spilt Milk Festival in Canberra on November 17.

Live Nation followed this with confirmation that Glover will bring his live shows to Perth first on November 8, then Melbourne on November 10.

He'll cap off his pre-festival run with a career-highlight performance at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on November 14.

Following his Spilt Milk announcement earlier this week, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement.

One wrote, 'I'M IN SHOCK', while another commented, 'Just heard Childish Gambino is headlining Spilt Milk umm holy f**k'.

His PHAROS festival (November 23-25) will travel to New Zealand following Spilt Milk - however, no side shows have been announcement for that event.

Back in 2016, PHAROS California attendees at Joshua Tree National Park were treated to an 'immersive virtual reality, multi-sensory concert experience.'

Glover performed five sets at that event, and allowed adult-aged attendees to camp out to get the most out of the experience.

The same offer is on the table for the New Zealand iteration.

According to HipHopDX, performances took place in a 'large 150 foot wide/60 foot high dome' that was rigged with virtual reality technology.

Phones were reportedly banned from the dome.

Glover also recently starred as Lando Calrissian in the latest Star Wars film Solo, and will be voicing Simba in the live-action remake of The Lion King.
