Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever sign on for Netflix's An Unbelievable Story Of Rape
It couldn't be more appropriate in the #MeToo era.
Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever are set to star in An Unbelievable Story Of Rape, an eight-episode limited series for Netflix.
The series follows the true story of Marie, a teenager who was charged with lying about having been raped, and the two female detectives who followed a twisting path to arrive at the truth.

Toni, 45, and Merritt 37, play the detectives while 21-year-old Kaitlyn's role has yet to be confirmed but it's widely believed that she will co-star as Marie.
It’s based on a story written by ProPublica reporters T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, who won a Pulitzer Prize for their 2015 article about the case.
It was also covered in an episode of NPR radio show This American Life called Anatomy Of Doubt.
The Kids Are All Right writer and director Lisa Cholodenko, 54, will direct the first three episodes and executive produce.

Meanwhile, Toni can currently be seen on the big screen in the horror film Hereditary.
Merritt is an Emmy winner for her work on Nurse Jackie.
And Kaitlyn, who starred on seven seasons of Last Man Standing, just wrapped work on Olivia Wilde‘s Booksmart.
