Lara Trump's baby boy Luke may be an only child, but he can count his family's dogs as two of his closest companions.

The 35-year-old wife of Eric Trump took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a heartwarming video of her nine-month-old son feeding their dog Charlie cereal while sitting in his high chair.

'Charlie had a great weekend,' Lara captioned the footage, which shows the beagle jumping up to eat the treats Luke has left for him.

The tot points to the cereal that he left on the table of the high chair for him, and Charlie licks it right up.

'What happened? Where did your snack go?' Lara asks Luke in the background, and the little boy just looks at her with his eyes open wide.

'Charlie ate it,' someone else replies.

In addition to Charlie, the family also has a dog named Ben, whom Lara and Eric, 34, rescued two years ago.

The proud parents often share heartwarming photos of Luke playing with the two dogs, and they have on occasion called the pets his 'brothers.'

The couple welcomed their baby boy in September 2017, and Lara recently told Westchester Magazine that she knew Eric would be a fantastic father because of the way he treats their dogs.

'Eric is a great dad,' she said, 'and I always knew he would be because — I know it may sound crazy — but I saw how he was with our dogs and how much he cared about them.'

While paying tribute to Eric on Father's Day, she shared photos of him with both their son and their dogs.

Lara traveled to Duluth, Minnesota, last week to speak at her father-in-law's rally, where she accused people of being 'hysterical' about the explosive issue of child immigrants being separated from their parents.

'It was just last week that we saw history happen. Donald Trump is the first president to ever meet with the leader of North Korea. This is historic,' she told a crowd.

'And yet what is the only thing you hear if you turn on the television today or open the newspaper today? You hear about people coming into our country illegally, breaking our laws and paying the consequences for it right?' she said sarcastically.

Then she referenced the child separation issue — just hours after the president did a U-turn on his policies amid a bitter public outcry, signing an executive order which stated that illegal immigrants would be incarcerated indefinitely along with their children wherever possible.

'People are hysterical about it; the media is going crazy about it,' she told the crowd, claiming that this had gone on for eight years under Barack Obama.

More than 2,300 children were separated from their parents under the Trump administration's 'zero tolerance' policy for people who cross the border illegally. Although families were separated at the border under the Obama administration, it was not a standard practice.

Some former Obama administration officials insisted that families were only separated in particular circumstances that went beyond illegal entry, such as a parent being caught with drugs or contraband.

'Where was the uproar? Where were the Democrats calling him out to do something to change it?' Lara asked.

'Sort of makes you wonder what the heck is going on out there doesn’t it?’ she continued. 'The Democrats are desperate.'

The U.S. government is still working to reunite 2,053 immigrant children with their families.
