Coronation Street SPOILER: Sarah Platt ATTACKS Ryan Connor and leaves him for dead after he tries to kiss daughter Bethany

Coronation Street's Sarah Platt will be in hot water next week as she violently attacks Ryan Connor after thinking he made a pass at her daughter Bethany.

The dramatic scenes will see Ryan left for dead in his flat after hitting his head in a scuffle with Sarah, after Bethany suffers a panic attack during her date with the hunk.

Despite Bethany later admitting Ryan did nothing wrong, his reaction to Sarah's crime will leave her with a 'big decision to make' according to actress Tina O'Brien.

The plot unfolds after Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) finally agrees to go on a date with Ryan (Ryan Prescott), and she heads round to his flat for dinner.

After the evening starts off well Ryan leans in for a kiss, but still struggling with flashbacks from her grooming ordeal Bethany freaks out and flees the flat.

The teen runs into mum Sarah (Tina O'Brien) on her way home, and after seeing a confused Ryan outside his flat she jumps to the wrong conclusions and furiously rushes to confront him.

Having no idea what Bethany went through, Ryan jokes that she's a 'tease' leading Sarah to see red and hit him across the face before storming out.

Unfortunately she fails to see Ryan hit his head on the fall and crash to the ground unconscious, leading Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) to find him unresponsive.

After being rushed to hospital Ryan tells police he doesn't remember what happened, and Bethany later explains her fleeing was a result of a panic attack and he did nothing wrong.

Sarah then decides to come clean and apologise for jumping to conclusions, but Ryan's reaction leaves her nothing short of stunned.

Actress Tina told The Mirror: 'His reaction shocks her and is not what she expected at all. It is a real game changer for Sarah. She has a big decision to make.'

Bethany has still been struggling to come to terms with her grooming ordeal almost a year on, and things are set to get worse after she becomes the target of a revenge plot by jailed Sergeant Clifton's daughter Kayla.

Kayla has sparked up a relationship with Craig Tinker in a bid to get closer to Bethany, and on-set pics have also revealed she will kidnap the teen and threaten her with a crowbar.

Coronation Street continues on Tuesday 26th June at 8pm on ITV.
