The Wiggles star Anthony Field has safely returned to Australia after injuring himself while on tour in the US and ending up in hospital.

Anthony shared a photo of himself to Instagram on Tuesday, posing with his bandmates on a plane at Sydney Airport with his nose in plaster.

The 55-year-old 'Blue Wiggle' captioned the snap: '"Smashed it" on tour and I'm not talking about the shows! Great fun overseas, great to be back! No revolving doors!'

Anthony made headlines on Monday when he was unexpectedly hospitalised in Boston due to a nose injury.

Speaking to Fitzy & Wippa on Wednesday, the children's entertainer revealed the embarrassing reason behind the hospital dash.

'I walked into a revolving door,' Anthony chuckled.

Anthony explained he was trying to enter the door from the wrong direction.

A woman coming the opposite way 'kept pushing' and the door ending up smacking him square in the nose, resulting in an ambulance trip to ER.

'I was on the ground, there was blood everywhere,' he added.

Anthony later received 12 stitches at Boston's Tuft Medical Center.

Despite his nasty injury, he went to perform two sold-out shows with The Wiggles afterwards.

The Australian leg of The Wiggles' world tour begins in Melbourne on Saturday.
