Rosario Dawson stands out in hot pink blazer and newsboy cap as she enjoys spot of shopping in NYC

She stunned at the premiere of her series Luke Cage in a chic copper dress last week.  

But Rosario Dawson showed she knows how to wow off-duty as well, as the actress showcased her funky and edgy eye for style during a day out in New York City on Tuesday. 

Smiling, the actress, 39, couldn't have looked happier as she did a spot of shopping.

The Kids actress carried a singe white shopping bag and had a mini backpack slung over her shoulder.

She protected herself against the summer sunshine with a black newsboy cap, which sat atop her flowing locks.

Completing the look were a pair of chunky black sneakers.

Rosario appeared relaxed and content as she strolled through the city, rewarding herself to an hour of shopping amid a busy schedule.

After getting her start in the 1995 Harmony Korine written film Kids, Rosario has enjoyed a career in front of the spotlight. 

She has starred in Rent, Men In Black II, Sin City, and more recently portrayed Claire Temple in the Luke Cage series.

Season two of Luke Cage recently premiered and is now available for streaming on Netflix.

Rosario recently celebrated her 39th birthday, and the actress marked the occasion by posing nude in a series of Instagram snaps. 

The actress told Daily Mail Australia she feels 'better, more empowered and comfortable in my own skin' after baring all.

'I think it's one of those things especially tuning 39 in Hollywood,' she explained.

'I feel really good, I feel better, I feel more empowered and more in my body and more comfortable in my skin.'
