Malin soared to fame on the 2016 series of the wildly popular show, where she was heavily embroiled in the dramatic storylines, particularly after she wound up in a love triangle with Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham.

Since then she has dipped in and out of the showbiz circuit particularly after indulging in £7,000 worth of surgery last year.

Having removed herself from the spotlight for some time, she made the big reveal in an interview - before the launch of this year's series of Love Island.

She said: 'I am feeling quite shocked about being pregnant to be honest. It hasn’t sunk in yet. My mum passed away in November and within the same year I will be bringing a new life into the world. I would like a girl.

'I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a girl as well. I met Tom back in November on a night out. I met him a week before my mum died weirdly.'

Malin has recently spoken out about the harsh realities of online abuse and dealing with 'chasing the dream' versus the brutal reality of leaving the hit ITV2 show in a candid interview.

The star, who was left heartbroken when Love Island co-star Sophie Gradon, 32, was found dead at her parents home on Wednesday evening, said her 'beautiful friend' would let online trolls 'play in the back of her head'.

Speaking about dealing with online trolls, she told Digital Spy: 'We both battled it a little bit together, we both understood each other when it came to that.

'We'd take things to heart, so the trolling and stuff, I've got more used to it now, but with Sophie I think it would always play in the back of her head.

Explaining the pressure of the new-found fame, she continued: 'A few months go, to a year, and you're kind of chasing this dream that you've got, work's dying down a bit, you're struggling a little bit, and you're trying to maintain and comparing yourself to other Islanders, in terms of work aspects.'
