And now angered viewers have christened Megan Barton Hanson 'Muggy Megan' after she abruptly ended her relationship with Eyal Booker, and declared her true feelings for Wes Nelson, despite being coupled up with Laura Anderson.

Fans of the ITV2 show have taken to social media in their droves to brand the former stripper with the nickname, which was originally given to 2017 contestant Mike Thalassitis for his devious meddling between then couple Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes.

It all kicked off in last night's episode of Love Island. Megan and Eyal are a thing of the past and now she's making her move on Wes! Where does that leave Laura?

Having previously told Laura he was 'falling for her', the 20-year-old left her heartbroken when he ended their romance, shortly after Megan declared her true feelings for him.

The air hostess, 29, hit out at the former stripper calling her a 'f*****g s**g', mere moments after Megan, 24, begged Wes to kiss her.

In the tense showdown, Wes pulled Laura to one side and said: 'So basically today I've had time to reflect on what we have and I feel like something is missing.'

Confused, the blonde beauty replied: 'Why are you telling me this? After the first week you said you were falling for me and now you say something is missing. So it's changed now?'

Telling her they wouldn't be having petty arguments if it was 'all 100 percent', Wes said: 'Essentially what I'm saying is there's a particular person in the villa, Megan. I will be talking to her more often.'

Enraged, Laura fumed: 'Well we're done then. I knew there was something up as Megan didn't have the decency to say to me "Sorry I kissed Wes" after the task. F*****g kick in the teeth mate.'

She continued: 'I'm a loyal person, clearly I'm looking for something more substantial which maybe you aren't or you really don't rate me as a human. I cant believe you're mugging me off.'

Storming off, she shouted: 'Nice one Meg. Cheers for telling me. F*****g s**g.'

Shocked, Megan asked the islanders round the fire pit: 'Did she just call me a s**g? She's slept with more guys than me!'
