Susie Cave shares touching tribute to son Earl on his milestone 18th birthday... three years on from his twin Arthur's tragic death at 15

She recently detailed how she and her husband Nick Cave 'prop up' each other following the tragic death of their 15-year-old son Arthur.

And Susie Cave took to Instagram on Sunday to post a heart-warming message dedicated to Arthur's twin Earl in celebration of his 18th birthday.

The actress-turned-fashion designer, 51, credited her son for 'bringing so much light into the darkness', after the death of his brother who fell off a cliff near their Brighton home after taking LSD in 2015.

In the candid snap, the True History of the Kelly Gang actor posed shirtless as he strummed a guitar.

In the caption, the Mad Cows actress gushed: 'Happy Birthday to our beautiful Early. Thank you for giving me strength and for bringing so much light into the darkness. We are all so very proud of you. ❤️ @psychoearli.'

Shortly before the post, Susie paid tribute to her twins with a sweet throwback image of the pair.

She wrote: 'On this day 18 years ago our lightning bolts were born. Happy Birthday to our beautiful boys.'

Susie's post comes after she revealed she has now learned to value the 'happy moments', after having therapy to help with her grief.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the Cheshire native also described how she found that she 'loved being a mother more than anything' when bringing up her twins.

Susie detailed how the strength of her relationship with Nick has helped her following the loss of Arthur.

'We’re together all the time except when Nick’s on tour – and then we speak about four times a day. I swear we never argue,' she said.

'He’s a very easy person to get on with: wonderful, generous, kind. If one of us isn’t feeling so good, we’ll prop up the other. We really don’t want the other one to fall.’

She said that therapy has also helped, explaining how she has to do things 'that make me physically strong'.

Susie added: 'As much as I’ve been extremely sad and in pain, I now have happy moments. When you’ve had such loss you really value those.’

The fashion designer has previously described how her fashion label Vampire's Wife has helped her cope with her grief.

'When Arthur died, I didn’t think I could carry on,' she explained. 'When you lose a child, nothing will take away the pain, not ever.

'But I did realise if I could focus on something outside of what had happened, that if I could separate myself somehow from it all, even for a few seconds, and start creating things in those moments of escapism, then that might be an important thing.’

She added: 'Having something to do which was physically demanding enabled me temporarily not to think of anything else.’

Vampire's Wife has quickly become a celebrity favourite since Susie set up the label in 2014.
