She paid tribute to her close friend George Michael in a heartfelt post on what would have been his 55th birthday.

And Geri Horner played the perfect hostess as she held an NSPCC fundraising dinner in honour of the late musician at private members' club Annabel's in London's Mayfair on Monday evening.

The singer, 45, dazzled in a vibrant red dress as she joined her handsome husband, Red Bull Formula One boss Christian Horner, 44, at the charity event.

The Spice Girl boosted her petite frame with classic patent nude stilettos and complemented her sophisticated attire with a matching cream chain handbag.

The pop princess injected a touch of sparkle with her diamond drop earrings and silver watch.

Geri styled her glossy strawberry blonde locks in glamorous Hollywood curls and highlighted her natural beauty with red lipstick and lashings of mascara.

Christian looked dapper as he donned a sharply tailored grey suit paired with a soft pink buttoned shirt and black patent dress shoes.

In memory of George, Geri, along with Childline founder Dame Esther Rantzen, arranged the star-studded bash to help continue the Faith singer's hard work and support for children's charity NSPCC.

Much to the delight of the crowd, there was a mini-Spice Girls reunion for the soiree as Geri brought former band mate Mel C to perform their 90s hit song 2 Become 1.

The outing comes after Geri paid her respects to her close pal George Michael, who passed away on December 25 2016.

On what would have been his 55th birthday, the songstress shared a black-and-white image of George clad in his signature 80s crucifix earring.

In an emotional caption, Geri wrote of her close friend: 'Happy birthday George. We love you , forever in our hearts'.

Geri recently appeared on This Morning and teared up as she discussed her close bond with the Wham! singer, who tragically passed away on Christmas Day in 2016.

The It's Raining Men hit-maker explained that she wasn't sure about naming her son after George, but felt like it was a fitting way to honour her friend's unexpected passing.

'It's very sad. It was my mother’s idea to call Monty "George" – she loved his family – at first I thought, "Is it appropriate?"... but why not.'

The Freedom singer was found dead at his home in Goring, Oxfordshire, on December 2016, by boyfriend Fadi Fawaz.

Geri and George had met in their youth - with Geri revealing in the past that she had not realised he was gay at their first meeting, so tried to make a move.

The singing duo then became firm friends over the years, and George acted as a support for the redhead when she left the Spice Girls in 1998.

Geri has previously said he was the 'only celebrity friend' she had, apart from her fellow band mates.

The singer told The Sun: 'I have long chats with him, he's like a brother. In the past I've played my music to him and sometimes he'd tell me it's s**t and other times it's great.

Geri shares Montague - who was born on January 21 2017 weighing 7lbs 8oz - with husband Christian.

He is Geri's second child - as she shares daughter Bluebell, 10, with ex-partner Sacha Gervasi, and Christian also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
