Kerry Katona SLAMS banning airport alcohol in heated This Morning debate... two years after THAT drunken pre-flight incident

Kerry Katona has slammed proposals to ban alcohol from airports in a heated This Morning debate, two years after she was left red-faced by her drunken display in a viral video.

The 37-year-old TV star clashed with air hostess Charmaine Davies on the issue after a string of controversy surrounding alcohol-fuelled behaviour on flights.

During Wednesday's chat Kerry openly admitted she had 'one too many' during the 2016 break, after a mobile phone video showed her tracksuit bottoms around her ankles as she sprawled on the floor in Gatwick airport.

Kerry appeared on the ITV daytime show to put her side across in the issue of alcohol on airlines, following proposals from Ryanir to ban the selling of alcohol in airports before 10am.

As they showed a snipped of her infamous airport video, Kerry admitted: 'I think there's an extreme and I obviously think something should be done about the rowdy passengers, maybe introducing a breathalyser or something like that.

'Obviously we all know about me outside the airport, it wasn't my finest hour but I hadn't had a drink in eight months and when the fresh air hit me I just wanted to get as much sun as possible.'

The mother-of-five was debating the issue with former air hostess Charmaine Davies, who countered that alcohol should be banned from airports and planes completely.

She said: 'This is getting such a common problem, so many airlines are having passengers, and they are supposed to say passengers who are drunk should not get on an aircraft, which is clearly not happening.'

Kerry quipped back: 'Something should be done in regards to that, my holiday starts in the airport with the girls, just one or two drinks.

'When I'm going on holiday, as soon as we get to the airport, I want to have a drink. I don't drink at home so when I finally get to go away without my children.'

Charmaine added: 'I've been assaulted several times, this is all drinking incidents before they got on the aircraft, the first time was the woman who tried to strangle me, the second time was football fans and we had to mayday, they had been drinking before they got on the flight, the ground staff could have nipped it in the bud.'

Kerry went onto stress that she believed some form of limitation should be in place to avoid pre-flight binge drinking, suggesting perhaps a token system should be put in place.

She said: 'In the airport maybe they can have a token where you can only buy two drinks per person, I think that's reasonable.'
