Victoria, 44, looked typically subdued in a sophisticated black trouser suit comprised of loose fitting double-breasted tuxedo jacket and pencil thin trousers as she made her way inside.

Victoria has teamed up with Sotheby's to temporarily host a selection of 16 portraits at the flagship store of her eponymous label, and she's revealed that art has long been a passion for her and David.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, she said: 'David and I loved collecting contemporary art for quite some time, but Old Masters is really something new for me, and something I don't know an enormous amount about. I'm really enjoying learning about it. It's been quite incredible.'

Describing the unprecedented collaboration with upscale auction house Sotheby's as a 'dream come true', the mother-of-four also went on to reveal that she and her 43-year-old husband have now become students of the classic works.

'Art is something we're enjoying learning about together, and every piece means something personal to us, so it would be really hard to pick a favourite,' she said.'

However, Victoria - whose contemporary art collection with David is said to include works by Tracey Emin, Julian Schnabel, Damien Hirst and Sam Taylor-Johnson - did admit that she had her eye on one of the pricey canvas paintings.

When asked about if she was tempted to bid on one of the works when they go up for auction, she responded: 'I'd like the Rubens. But he seems to be very expensive.'
