Helena Christensen, 49, proves she doesn't age as she poses in same metal bikini she wore 27 years ago

It's been 27 years since she appeared on the cover of L.A. Style magazine donning a Thierry Mugler metal bikini.

But Helena Christensen didn't look like she had aged a day as she posed in the same metallic swimsuit on the streets of New York.

The photo was taken for InStyle's Bada** Women issue, which also features an interview with of the now 49-year-old model.

Standing alone in an empty New York alley, Helena's stark features and metal wear juxtaposed with the warm red bricks and cobblestones.

Chic black stilettos added an extra bit of contrast to the scene, while also highlighting the model's slender stems.

She wrapped one hand across her belly and the other lightly brushed her cheek as she stood in the shadows of the fired clay buildings.

The forthcoming issue of InStyle also spoke with the former Victoria's Secret Angel, who started her career on the other side of the lens.

And despite years in the frame, it still took Helena a moment to prepare for the metal bikini photo.

'We all look more or less the same, and we all have our bodies and body issues, so I thought, "Just get with it,"' she told the interviewer later on about her state of mind going into the shoot.
