Mark Wahlberg stars as CIA operative in action-packed trailer for Mile 22
Mark Wahlberg leads the way in a new trailer for his action film Mile 22, choc with guns, explosions and international intrigue, as the leading man plays a CIA operative looking to save millions of lives by preventing a terrorist attack.
In the action film, Wahlberg, 47, plays James Silva, who's in a race against time - and dangerous rivals - with the help of a shadow tactical team to procure, protect and transport a source named Li Noor - who's providing critical information.
The preview is choc full of gun battles, dangerous interplay on city streets and a scintillating martial arts sequence featuring actor Iko Uwais.

'Failure is not an option - if we we get him out we save millions of lives,' Silva is heard saying in the clip.
CIA official Bishop (John Malkovich) explained the emergency nature of his team and their goals.
'This is an over-watch operation - our team is engaged in a higher form of patriotism,' he said. 'It's not a military peroration; the goal is to complete the mission at any cost.'
Silva is seen talking to his colleague Alice (Lauren Cohan) about the dangerous nature of the career path they've chosen as it's revealed that she has a key informant, named Li Noor (Uwais), who's provided them with information of an imminent attack.

'I have information that proves my government is planning an attack on the United States,' Noor is heard saying.
At one point, Silva calls for the 'Hand of God,' which results in a destructive explosion on a city street.
'It’s kind of every man for himself in this movie,' director Peter Berg told Slashfilm. 'Different types of camaraderie. Mission comes first.'
The key: An informant named Li Noor (Iko Uwais) has information of an imminent attack

Ronda Rousey, who plays Sam Snow in the film, told the outlet of the film's storyline: 'It’s not an origin story or anything like that; You’re thrown into the middle of it and you get to know the characters as you go along, so it’s not like you get an introduction and then the movie starts.
'The movie starts and then you start to really figure out who these people are depending on how they react to different situations.'
Other notable names in the Peter Berg-directed film include Terry Kinney, David Garelik and Poorna Jagannathan.
The film hits theaters on August 17.
