Arms:

The Royal Arms as borne by HM King George III but without the Inescutcheon on the Arms of Hanover differenced by a Label of three points Argent the centre point charged with a Fleurs de lys Azure and each of the other points with Cross Gules

Crest:

On a Coronet of four Crosses Patty alternated with four Fleurs-de-Lis a Lion statant guardant Or crowned with a like Coronet and differenced by a Label as in the Arms

Supporters:

Same as in the Royal Arms borne by HM King George III differenced by a like Coronet and Label

 

Note: These are the differenced version of the Royal Arms assigned by Royal Warrant to the 1st Duke of Cumberland and Teviotdale. When he succeeded his brother as King of Hanover he charged the Arms of Hanover with the Electoral inescutcheon "Gules the Crown of Charlemagne proper" and changed the label to a label of three points Argent as Heir Presumptive to the British Throne. This label was not used after 1848. During the lifetime of his father his son, the future King George V of Hanover, bore the arms of his father with a second label of three points Gules charged on the centre point with a Horse courant Argent as heir to the Throne of Hanover.

It is open to HRH Prince Ernest Augustus of Hanover (b. 1954), grandson of HRH Prince Ernest Augustus (d. 1953), to make a claim to be restored as Duke of Cumberland and Teviotdale under Section 2 of the Titles Deprivation Act 1917.
