Coronation Street SPOILER: Aidan Connor's suicide inquest continues as his family film emotional scenes
His tragic off-screen suicide left viewers in tears, with his family a broken shadow of its former self.
And it seems things are not going to get any easier for Coronation Street's Aidan Connor's family over a month after his death, as they were spotted filming scenes for the inquest into his suicide.
In touching scenes the Connor family - including stars Kym Marsh, Alison King and Faye Brookes - were seen tenderly embracing after saying their last goodbye to Aidan.
Heartbreaking: Coronation Street's Aidan Connor's suicide is set to continue in the coming weeks, as his family were seen filming emotional goodbye scenes
As the stars were seen leaving the Coroner's court after the emotional scenes dressed in sombre attire, characters Michelle (played by Kym), Carla (Alison) and Kate (Faye) were seen sharing a loving hug after saying goodbye to Aidan.
Hopefully the emotional day will provide some closure for the family surrounding his death, as they continue to wonder what would push the Underworld owner to take his own life.
The harrowing scenes were praised by viewers for showing the heartbreaking effects of such a death, though no element of moment Aidan took his own life - or his body in the aftermath - were shown on screen.
Devastating: Fans were left in tears last month when Aidan Connor took his own life off-screen
Candid: Actresses Alison King (right) and Faye Brookes were seen tenderly embracing outside the Coroner's Court after filming the inquest scenes
Emotional: Alongside star Kym Marsh (middle as Michelle Connor) the family were seen hugging after saying goodbye to Aidan, as the chaotic fallout of his death continues
Going: The storyline is also set to feed into the departure of Aidan's ex Eva Price, who was left heartbroken by the news of his suicide
The last time fans saw Aidan (played by Shayne Ward) in Coronation Street he was seen to be breaking down in tears alone in his flat, choosing to end his life despite finding out he was the father of Eva's baby daughter Susie.
His father Johnny discovered Aidan's body the following morning in his bathroom, and could be heard crying out in horror after finding his son's body.
And the fallout of Aidan's death has proved to be nothing short of chaotic, after it was revealed he left the entire Underworld factory to Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), with a huge legal battle set to ensure.
Progress: The Connor family have been brought closer together in the aftermath of Aidan's death, after being left with many questions as to why he would take his own life
Tighter bond: Fans heard Johnny cry out in horror as he discovered son Aidan's body the morning after his suicide
Why would he do it? Aidan's death left fans stunned by the raw scenes, but they went onto praise bosses for respectfully portraying such a hard-hitting topic
Meanwhile Aidan's inquest is also set to feed into the departure of character Eva Price, with actress Catherine Tyldesley filming her final scenes for the soap last week.
It has already been confirmed that Eva will not be killed off, but fans will be left wondering whether she decides to leave the Street with her baby daughter Susie, or if the tot will remain with the Connor family.
A furious custody battle has already been teased after Johnny discovered Aidan had fathered the child, and it looks like neither party will be ready to go down without a fight.
Fans will have to wait and see what the outcome of Aidan's inquest will mean for the family, and whether they can patch things up with Eva before she departs the cobbles for good.
Coronation Street continues on Friday 29th June at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
