Welcome to Boronia jail - a unique prison where women are given personal responsibility for their actions, not locked in their rooms at night and are even able to get a job and leave jail during the day to earn a living. The one-off prison facility in Perth, Western Australia, has been running for 15 years and is home to up to 95 women who live under the watchful eye of Superintendent Jan Allen who believes in a 'hands on' and 'community and family minded' approach to keeping women behind bars.
