Barry Hall has refused to repeat an apology for vulgar comments he made on live radio when confronted outside a South Australian country football club where he was giving a paid speech. Just hours after his sacking from radio station Triple M over the comments Hall appeared at the Eudunda Robertstown Football Club in South Australia to give a speech to about 100 people.  Hall earlier broke his silence and apologised for the the vile comments he made on live radio about his fellow panellist's heavily pregnant wife.

Singer and songwriter Victor Willis, from iconic 1970s disco band Village People, is still making several million dollars a year from the hit Y.M.C.A. Willis, who dressed as a motorcycle cop when performing the 1978 song, says it took him just six hours to write the lyrics. It was a selfless act that saw a high-profile NRL coach undergo surgery and have his kidney removed in order to save his 49-year old brother's life. Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary went under the knife eight months ago at Royal North Shore Hospital and donated his kidney to his brother, Ash. 'There was never a question of if I would do it or not,' Ivan told The Sunday Telegraph.

Black and white photos showing icons of history have been brought back to life after being transformed with colour. The portraits include one dubbed ‘The Roaring Lion’: Winston Churchill is shown in a no-nonsense portrait in the Canadian Parliament, taken by Yousuf Karsh in December 1941, during the early years of the Second World War. In his book, Karsh recalled taking the image after Churchill had spoken before the parliament. He was in a sour mood and ‘in no mood for portraiture and two minutes were all that he would allow me’. Karsh also took the photo of Martin Luther King Jr. in 'difficult conditions as we had very little time and the only place available was a corner of Mr King's church'.
