Love Island: Adam Collard accused of 'bullying' by ex-schoolmate who claims he constantly laughed at her... after he revealed HE was picked on

He spoke openly about his struggles with school bullies.

But Love Island's Adam Collard has been accused of being the bully himself by a former schoolmate, who claims he would make nasty comments and even laughed at one of her projects.

Sophie Clarke, 21, told The Sun that Adam's tales of being picked on at school were a one-off occurrence, after he revealed to fellow Islander Zara McDermott he became a personal trainer after being the brunt of nasty comments.

Currently a student, Sophie said: 'I had to sit next to him in a technology class for a few months, during which time we didn't really speak much, but when he did he'd taunt me a bit and give me the occasional dig in the arm.

'Obviously I was quite a bit smaller than him so it hurt!'

Sophie went onto reveal that Adam got a telling-off for teachers for laughing at her final woodwork project, and that the times he described being bullied were nothing more than a one-off.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Love Island for further comment.

Adam had previously spoken about his battles with the bullies at school, opening up to Zara soon after their meeting saying it was one of his motivations to become a personal trainer.

He said: 'I had a bit of a right time in school with people..I got picked on and stuff like that, just standard stuff that everyone gets but I took it to heart a lot more than over people.'

Adam had previously been dubbed the somewhat-villain of this year's Love Island, following a sombre reaction to Rosie Williams emotional outburst, after he admitted having an interest in then-newcomer Megan Barton Hanson.

Since then Adam moved onto a romance with Zara, but following her dumping from the villa on Wednesday night, it hasn't taken long for the Newcastle-born hunk's head to be turned.

Adam recently joined the six other remaining male Islanders who headed to the Casa Amor villa, where they welcomed by six new female arrivals looking to spark some new romances.
