He famously refused to wear a Queensland Maroons State Of Origin jersey, declaring: 'I’m from New South Wales' after frequent holidays in Byron Bay with Chris Hemsworth. 

But while taking in Saturday night's AFL clash between the Gold Coast Suns and Collingwood Magpies, it appeared Matt Damon threw his allegiance behind the Victorian side as he sat with supporters wearing the club's red and yellow colours.

Amid persistent rumours he's planning to relocate Down Under, the American megastar, 47 is enjoying yet another family Australian holiday.

Currently vacationing in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast with his wife, Luciana Barroso, 42, and their kids Isabella, 11, Gia, 9, and Stella, 7, Matt took some away from clan to take in the AFL game.

Sitting in the stands surround by lively supporters, The Bourne Identity star tried to remain inconspicuous underneath a black baseball cap.

With a green lanyard around his neck and a pair of sunglasses hanging off his collar, Matt was flanked by an enthusiastic group of friends. 

Encircled by the entourage, the star chatted animatedly with a fellow baseball cap wearing Magpie supporter who proudly flaunting the club colours.

Meanwhile, a blonde AFL fan got a little up close and personal with the Hollywood actor.

She placed her hands on his shoulders to get a better look at the action on the field.

Momentarily distracted by the affectionate act, Matt immediately turned his attention back to the ALF clash.  

Meanwhile, Thor star Chris Hemsworth continues to fuel speculation Matt is planning to settle in Australia permanently.

Speaking to entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins on Channel Nine's Today Extra last month, Chris, 34, referred to Matt as his 'good friend' and said: 'He [Matt] was in love with this country and wanted to come for a holiday.

'And that holiday got longer and longer and they [Matt's family] have been here a few months now and I'm loving it.'  

Chris and wife Elsa Pataky, 41, daughter India-Rose, 5, and their twins, Tristan and Sasha, 4, have been spending a lot of time with Matt and his family.

The Bourne Ultimatum star has spent most of 2018 hanging out with his best mate in Byron Bay, a town that sits just within the NSW side of the border.

At the start of the year Matt reportedly rented the $4 million ($3.07m USD) property directly next door to the Thor star's current rental property to use as his home base during his visit.

 Back in April, Page Six claimed Matt was looking to buy the property next door to Chris in Byron Bay, allegedly due to his dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump.
