A toast to the best: Luxury magazine celebrates 25 years

If luxury is a superlative, substance shouldn't be far behind. That was the message sent out to celebrate Robb Report's Best of the Best Issue, hosted by India's premier luxury mall DLF Emporio

The Indian edition of the world's leading luxury magazine was celebrating 25th year of the much-coveted list, which puts out the best performers in luxury in the past 12 months, covering private aviation, automobiles, hotels, fashion, spirits and more.

The issue, which released on October 1, was displayed in full glory, encrusted with crystals from Swarovski Elements on the cover of this collector's edition.

Leading the  evening were five leaders from different fields of luxury: Biren Vaidya, the creative force behind The Rose Group's watches and jewellery, and Gautama Dutta, director of Marine Solutions which markets boats like Pershing, Ferretti and Riva. Designer Raghavendra Rathore was another thought leader, who underlined fashion and its everlasting appeal.

Two Frenchmen, Olivier Zuber from Dassault Falcon Business Jets, and Vincent Cleme, Brand Ambassador of Rémy Martin's Louis XIII, made up the rest of this special group, and showed how the best brands in the world of luxury are now looking at India.

"Until recently, the 'Best of the Best' list culminated in a gala event in Monacco, where the biggest names battled it out to win a spot," revealed Robb Report's Editorial Director, Jamal Shaikh. "With China and India gaining importance, don't be surprised if Robb Report India hosts such a gala soon.

The black carpet at Emporio's Café E glimmered almost as much as the Swarovski-studded cover with a select but distinguished audience. Raseel Gujral came with husband Navin Ansal while designer Suneet Varma came with his (now official) partner Rahul Arora, the marketing genius at Swarovski Elements who facilitated the special cover.

Over canapés, cocktails and conversation, connoisseurs of luxury celebrated the best, with expectations of even better in times to come.
