England's most expensive goalkeeper made history once more last night as Jordan Pickford (pictured, centre) secured his side's place in the quarter finals as the Three Lions won their first ever World Cup penalty shoot-out against Colombia. Tickets for the World Cup fixture are selling for almost £700 as England face Sweden in Samara, with livefootballtickets.com flogging seats for about 15 times the lowest official price of £45. England layers (top-left and bottom-left) celebrated as Pickford's girlfriend Megan - with whom he has been since they were teenagers - looked on in apprehension from the Moscow stands (top-right). University of Sunderland graduate Megan has been with Jordan ever since and they now live together in Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle'. As her boyfriend made a crucial save against Bacca, Megan couldn't hold back her jubilation (bottom-right). Pickford, who built his reputation playing for Sunderland, now earns £90,000 a week at Everton and is Britain's most expensive ever keeper. Pubs were full to the brim and streets were empty in across England tonight as a predicted 40 million pints were downed as England beat the South American side.

Major incident is declared amid fears two people were exposed to an unknown substance

A major incident has been declared in Wiltshire after it was suspected two people were exposed to an unknown substance in Amesbury. The town is just seven miles from Salisbury, where Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia (pictured together and inset, the scene after the poisoning) were poisoned with a nerve agent in March. The man and woman, both in their 40s, are in a critical condition at Salisbury District Hospital, Wiltshire Police said. Wiltshire Police said it was not clear if a crime had been committed, although a number of scenes in the Amesbury and Salisbury area have been cordoned off as a precaution. The pair were found unconscious at an address in Muggleton Road (file photo, top) on Saturday evening. Police said it was initially believed that they may have used heroin or crack cocaine from a contaminated batch of drugs.

How they will get those terrified Thai boys out of there

The initial euphoria of finding 12 missing teenagers and their coach alive after ten days lost inside the flooded Tham Luang Nang Non cave labyrinth was starting to fade yesterday. For the choice now facing the authorities in northern Thailand's Chiang Rai district is a stark one. Should they keep these disoriented and terrified boys in their subterranean prison for up to four months until the water level subsides? Or should they try to guide them out now? The imminent arrival of monsoons in the days ahead seemed to be nudging the authorities towards the latter option yesterday. Though the rescue teams have deployed powerful pumps to extract millions of gallons of water in recent days, there are fears that levels may be about to rise again. 'We're worried about the rain that's been forecast,' Anupong Paojinda, the interior minister, told reporters last night.

The two highly experienced British volunteer divers who helped to find the trapped boys and their coach have a history of difficult rescues around the world.

Praying for a miracle: New video shows trapped Thai children as two doctors volunteer to stay with them for FOUR MONTHS if floodwaters cut them off and make rescue attempts impossible

A football coach and 12 'rake thin' young players (top right) remain trapped in the Thamg Luang cave network in northern Thailand as experts desperately try to come up with a plan to rescue them. There are fears fresh rainfall over the next few days could add to flooding in the caves (shown in the graphic) - meaning the boys, who cannot swim, may have to wait until the end of monsoon season in October before they can be brought to safety. If that does happen, two of Thailand's Navy doctors have already volunteered to stay in the underground chamber for as long as it takes in what is being described as a 'huge sacrifice'. A first meal of rice and pork - packaged up in sealed portions - is being prepared for the youngsters, who have already been given energy gels and paracetamol. Right: Rescuers at the scene.

'I couldn't be prouder of England': Prince William leads a tidal wave of online tributes

Kensington Palace lead the tributes to the England team online as the Three Lions bagged a victory against Colombia on penalties in Moscow tonight. In a tweet signed off by Prince William, the head of the FA, the palace said: 'I couldn't be prouder of - a victory in a penalty shootout! Partying from Manchester to Moscow! England fans erupt in rapture as their team FINALLY wins a World Cup penalty shootout

England football supporters were put through a spectrum of emotion as they roared their team to the narrowest of World Cup last-16 victories from more than 1,500 miles away. The passion on the pitch in the Russian capital was replicated at fan zones across England, as substitute Eric Dier's decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out sent the Three Lions through - and fans into raptures.

Hilarious moment England fan REFUSES to celebrate hero Jordan Pickford's penalty save - and only cheers when Dier scores final penalty

People celebrated across the country with people pouring into the streets in London, Manchester, and Newcastle as England edged a last minute victory against Colombia on penalties. Many hailed goalie Jordan Pickford the hero of the night as he saved Baccam's shot seeing England end its record of spot kick disasters and leaving the path clear for Dier to score the winning penalty for the Three Lions. But one fan, who got a front row place at a public viewing, stayed sombre while the rest of the crowd celebrating Colombia's loss - and didn't celebrate until England's winning goal.

Prince Charles's friend describes Meghan Markle's dad as 'huge lump'

After Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince Harry had started courting Suits actress Meghan Markle, the Prince issued an impassioned statement condemning the Press for its so-called 'abuse' of his girlfriend who is now is wife. The mothers who hate what computer game addiction does to their sons

Fortnite, since launching its free version six months ago, is played by 125 million people globally - making it one of the biggest computer games of all time and earning its maker, the U.S. software company Epic Games, around £230 million a month. But, unlike other games, it seems to have hooked young children - predominately boys - in a way rarely seen before. Teachers, parents and health professionals are warning of its dangers. In North London, a 15-year-old boy spent eight weeks in hospital because of his 'all-consuming' gaming addiction, including Fortnite, which left him unable to go to school for a year and needing vitamin D tablets because of a lack of sunlight. Amanda Snow (right, with her son Luke) says the game has turned him into a nightmare. Roz Page (pictured top left, with her kids) was horrified when her son Matthew, ten, spent £140 on extras in the game. Zoe Godber (bottom left) is another mother horrified by the change in her son, Jacob, aged nine. She says: 'He's addicted to Fortnite. His famous mother Tina (bottom in her heyday) was just 18 when she gave birth to Craig, whose father  was a saxophonist named Raymond Hill. Tina later married Ike Turner who adopted her son and gave him his name. Craig was in real estate in the San Fernando Valley. In May 2005, Tina told Oprah her eldest, who had seen his mom get abused by Ike Snr., was 'a very emotional kid'. 'They saw the black eyes. Ike's children never reacted, but my oldest son, Craig, was a very emotional kid. He'd always look down in sadness. 'One day when Ike was fighting me, Craig knocked on the door and said, "Mother, are you all right?" 'I thought, "Oh, please, don't beat me at home." I didn't want my children to hear.' Tina said she only left Ike after Craig graduated from high school. The turbulent story of Ike and Tina is part of music history. The drug addict son of a Mississippi preacher, Ike regularly beat up Tina until, after 16 years, she fled in the middle of the night in a bloodstained white suit with just 36 cents in her pocket. Mark and Mandy Ling (left) had to jostle for position in official snaps of their big day after a 'selfish' female sun-worshipper laying on the grass in front of them refused to move (right). But instead of her being blasted, trolls on social media have let rip at the bride and groom for asking her to move in Torquay, Devon. Today the groom's sister-in-law Fay Ling told MailOnline: 'They've been deeply upset to read some of the comments on social media. It has got very personal - completely out of hand. People are painting them as the bad guys, saying the woman shouldn't have been asked to move. You would have thought she could give the photographer a few minutes to get the best position.'
