Police investigating the murders of eight babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016 are searching the home of nurse Lucy Letby. The probe has been launched into the neonatal unit at the hospital. Officers erected a blue forensic tent outside Ms Letby's home, inset. Police have also been seen at the home of Ms Letby's parents Hereford. Detective Inspector Paul Hughes said officers are currently investigating the deaths of 17 babies and 15 non-fatal collapses between March 2015 and July 2016. He said the investigation was 'highly complex and very sensitive'.

The initial euphoria of finding 12 missing teenagers and their coach alive after ten days lost inside the flooded Tham Luang Nang Non cave labyrinth was starting to fade yesterday. For the choice now facing the authorities in northern Thailand's Chiang Rai district is a stark one. Should they keep these disoriented and terrified boys in their subterranean prison for up to four months until the water level subsides? Or should they try to guide them out now? The imminent arrival of monsoons in the days ahead seemed to be nudging the authorities towards the latter option yesterday. Though the rescue teams have deployed powerful pumps to extract millions of gallons of water in recent days, there are fears that levels may be about to rise again. 'We're worried about the rain that's been forecast,' Anupong Paojinda, the interior minister, told reporters last night.

A football coach and 12 'rake thin' young players (top right) remain trapped in the Thamg Luang cave network in northern Thailand as experts desperately try to come up with a plan to rescue them. There are fears fresh rainfall over the next few days could add to flooding in the caves (shown in the graphic) - meaning the boys, who cannot swim, may have to wait until the end of monsoon season in October before they can be brought to safety. If that does happen, two of Thailand's Navy doctors have already volunteered to stay in the underground chamber for as long as it takes in what is being described as a 'huge sacrifice'. In a tweet signed off by Prince William, the head of the FA, the palace said: 'I couldn't be prouder of - a victory in a penalty shootout! Six-year-old Alesha MacPhail (left), who disappeared from her grandparent's home on the island of Bute in Scotland had been murdered, police have confirmed. She vanished at 6am on Monday from a flat near Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute. She was found two hours later on the site of an old hotel. Police launched a murder investigation after a six-hour post-mortem examination. Senior investigating officer Stuart Houston said people may still have 'critical information' which could help with the investigation. The hotel where Alesha's body was found was demolished in the 1970s and was about 20 minutes' walk from her grandparents home. Grieving relatives including her father Rab and his partner Toni McLachlan (right) left tributes to the youngster on the island yesterday.

The Crown Prosecution Service announced the man known only as 'Nick' had been charged with 12 counts of perverting the course of justice and one count of fraud. The Met's inquiry into the man's allegations of child rape and murder involving an Establishment child sex ring including ex PM Edward Heath, former Home Secretary Leon Brittan, ex-military chief Lord Bramall and ex Tory MP Harvey Proctor, closed without a single arrest.

After Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince Harry had started courting Suits actress Meghan Markle, the Prince issued an impassioned statement condemning the Press for its so-called 'abuse' of his girlfriend who is now is wife. Perhaps Harry should have extended the warning to his father Prince Charles's friends, too. Last night, Old Etonian interior designer Nicky Haslam (inset), 78, who is a good friend of the royals, launched an astonishing verbal assault on the Duchess of Sussex's family whom he deems 'common' as well as making disobliging remarks about her wedding dress. Theresa May was warned last night not to revive plans for a controversial 'customs partnership' at this week's Brexit showdown. Downing Street was tight-lipped yesterday about its plans for a 'third way' on future customs arrangements with the EU, which is designed to break months of Cabinet deadlock. But reports yesterday said Number 10 was planning to revive parts of the 'customs partnership', under which the UK continues to apply EU tariffs after Brexit.

His famous mother Tina (bottom in her heyday) was just 18 when she gave birth to Craig, whose father  was a saxophonist named Raymond Hill. Tina later married Ike Turner who adopted her son and gave him his name. Craig was in real estate in the San Fernando Valley. In May 2005, Tina told Oprah her eldest, who had seen his mom get abused by Ike Snr., was 'a very emotional kid'. 'They saw the black eyes. Ike's children never reacted, but my oldest son, Craig, was a very emotional kid. He'd always look down in sadness. 'One day when Ike was fighting me, Craig knocked on the door and said, "Mother, are you all right?" 'I thought, "Oh, please, don't beat me at home." I didn't want my children to hear.' Tina said she only left Ike after Craig graduated from high school. The turbulent story of Ike and Tina is part of music history. The drug addict son of a Mississippi preacher, Ike regularly beat up Tina until, after 16 years, she fled in the middle of the night in a bloodstained white suit with just 36 cents in her pocket. She has lived in Switzerland since 1994 with German music producer Erwin Bach. The couple married five years ago. Ike Jnr. said his mother had all but abandoned her kids after the move overseas, although he said they were looked after financially.

A bride-to-be who partied with Olly Murs on her hen do in Ibiza today laughed it off as 'just a harmless bit of fun.' Joanne Nipper, 34, was pictured giving the pop star a hug and a kiss in Ocean Beach Club, on the sun-kissed party island, last weekend.  Olly was on a friend's stag party and was said to be on the lookout for girls. A woman named Ashley put her relationship to the test when she appeared on the popular YouTube series To Catch a Cheater. Ashley's best friend Alex was asked to hit on boyfriend Bart while a hidden camera captured his reaction. She explained that Bart has joked about having a threesome with Alex in the past. Limbani was seen drinking through a straw when he hears someone call his name from behind. The ape then turns around to see Jorge, one of the people who helped raise him. The Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister, 34, was spotted carrying shopping bags from her car into the London home she shares with husband James Matthews on Monday. Melissa Bergman, 30, drove around the town of Mason with her two young children in the car, and strolled right up to the targeted homes last July, and was eventually caught when she swiped one package with an officer just a few feet away according to court records. The mother-of-two entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity during her trial, but was still found guilty on 12 counts of theft, landing her in prison for 30 days and on probation for the next three years. In the wake of her conviction, Bergman said that she had it all when she committed these felonies, and in an interview with NBC 5 noted: 'I'm looking back, and I'm like, "What was I thinking?" At this time, my head wasn't in the right place. I wasn't thinking, and I made the wrong decision.' Bergman also made sure to point out that she lives in a $450,000 house, a claim that is no longer entirely accurate as she and her husband separated after she was arrested in November for sleeping with another man and stealing his credit card information. She has also been convicted of grand larceny in the past, is due in court for at least one more theft charge in the state of Ohio and has been arrested across three states in the past decade under four different surnames.

This shocking footage captures the moment a car driver shouts abuse at a fellow motorist after being caught driving the wrong way up a busy road. The van driver can be seen telling the car trying to skip the lengthy queue of traffic to reverse after he was caught on the wrong side of the road. Not wanting to budge, the driver trying to skip the queue can be seen gesturing towards the van driver, urging him to move back to he can jump in front.

Brazilian Christina Rickardsson, 35, grew up in a cave (inset) and killed birds to survive. As a child she begged on the streets and sold rice until she was adopted in 1991. Christina was taken to Sweden where she grew up in a middle-class family. Now she has chronicled her extraordinary life in book called: Never Stop Walking. She returned to Brazil in 2015 to see the cave again and find her biological mother.

When Jessica Whitton (inset above), from Bury in Manchester, began being bombarded with Facebook messages from strangers declaring their love for her, she decided to 'play them at their own game'. She shared screenshots (some of her message exchanges seen left to right) of a series of message exchanges with 'suitors' in Africa and India, in which she urged them to send her snapshots of themselves in various poses, replied with underwhelmed selfies, and - in one case - told a man she had lost a leg in a lion attack that killed her entire family.

Lisa and Mark Brooks were enjoying a day trip to Knaresborough Castle in North Yorkshire when they spotted the bird in the trees. Mrs Brooks, 43, then got out her phone to film the moment and caught the raven saying 'Y'alright love?'. The mother-of-two said: 'I like videoing wildlife and had spent the morning video squirrels and other birds. I wandered over to the crow and just heard this faint call of "y'alright love".'

This is the extraordinary moment a female fox made a dramatic 'leap of faith' between 20-foot tall treetops to capture dinner for her two cubs. The action-packed hunt shows the hungry fox dive out of the tree from around 20 feet high and plunge to the ground as she chases a squirrel. The panicking prey then makes a last-ditch attempt to escape by dashing back up the nearest tree. Christopher Abbott, 47, caught the incredible sight on camera and his footage quickly went viral, with more than 320,000 views on social media. Christopher, from Bonavista, Newfoundland in Canada, said: 'I've never, ever seen them jump up trees before.

An hilarious video has emerged online of a passive aggressive silent argument between two bus passengers. Footage taken on a mobile phone shows the two commuters going back and forth to open and close the window for a whole four minutes. The clip was shared online on Monday but captured in May in Nizhny Novgorod, western Russia.
