The Duchess of Cornwall has revealed that ketchup is the one condiment she can't live without.

During a special appearance on MasterChef on Wednesday, Camilla Parker Bowles revealed that she keeps the condiment in her fridge and that her grandchildren can't get enough of it.

'My grandchildren are rather addicted to ketchup,' she told MasterChef judge Gary Mehigan.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to joke about the guest appearance, with one user saying: 'So Camilla has her own fridge and ketchup?'

'Who's Camila kidding she's never owned olive oil,' another user joked.     

In what could possibly be a first for the royal couple, Camilla opened up about their personal life and told contestants what they like to prepare in the kitchen.

The contestants were given the royal task of preparing 450 canapes for a reception in Darwin that Prince Charles and Camilla would be attending.

The Duchess of Cornwall also revealed that the Prince is passionate about the environment, sustainability and loves local produce.

She also told Gary that he loves local cheeses, anything with eggs and local vegetables.

When Gary asked what the essential ingredients were that she couldn't live without she said that olive oil was at the top of the list, along with a specific vegetable.

'I have to have, if I haven't got fresh tomatoes, I'll always have tomato puree,' The Duchess of Cornwall said.

Then came the surprising confession, 'And I'm afraid to say, even ketchup. My grandchildren are rather addicted to ketchup.'

She also said that when preparing food for a 'royal reception' it's best to avoid garlic.

'I hate to say this...but garlic is a no-no,' she said.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to joke about the guest appearance, with one user saying: 'So Charles came with full protection but Camila just chat with Gary alone in the kitchen.'
