'I spent so many years loving my body but thinking it wasn't lovable by others—its sole purpose was to be fodder for jokes. I performed the insult so no one else could,' Lena wrote under a photo that saw her use two pears and a pot of honey to keep her modest.

The actress, who has also been open about her experience dealing with endometriosis, a female reproductive disease that affects the uterus, explained that dealing with health issues has, in fact, made her more comfortable with her body.
'I don't regret any of it,' she wrote of her previous self-deprecating jokes, 'that's my art and that was my truth—but now, at age 31, having been through hell and back with my health and other people's perceptions of my physicality.'
