Oscar winner Linda Hunt's 'recovering well' and has 'no serious injuries' following LA car crash

Actress Linda Hunt says she's improving after her recent car crash.

The Morristown, New Jersey-born actress, 73, issued a statement to CBS2 Los Angeles Tuesday in the wake of a serious car accident she was involved in a day before in Hollywood that left her recovering in a nearby hospital.

'I was involved in a minor traffic accident and taken to the hospital,' the NCIS: Los Angeles star said. 'I’m pleased to report I’m recovering well and have no serious injuries.

Linda, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for The Year of 1982's Living Dangerously, was attempting to turn left in her black BMW SUV when she crashed into a sedan and a Honda SUV, according to TMZ.

Linda, who appeared alongside Roseanne Barr in 1989's She-Devil, was 'visibly shaken' following the incident, in which the other drivers suffered 'minor injuries,' officials told TMZ. The incident remains under investigation.

Hunt earned Academy Award glory in 1983 for her role as a male Chinese-Australian photographer called Billy Kwan in Peter Weir's The Year of Living Dangerously alongside Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver.

The New Jersey-born Goodman School of Drama grad recently provided the voice of Grindalid female crime boss and White Worm leader, Lady Proxima, in Solo: A Star Wars Story.  

The Tony-nominated thespian currently plays Operational Manager Hetty Lange in the procedural NCIS: Los Angeles, which returns for a 24-episode 10th season in the fall. 2018 marks a decade of marriage between Linda and her wife, psychotherapist Karen Kline, whom she began dating in 1978.
