A busy day! Prince William joins Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at service to mark 70 years of NHS after attending National War Memorial ceremony in Edinburgh

Earlier in the day he attended the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle for the Annual Service of Commemoration.
And Prince William was seen making an appearance at a service held at the National Museum of Scotland to mark 70 years of the NHS later on Thursday.
Also at the ceremony, which paid tribute to its inspirational staff and included messages from politicians and patients alike, was Lord Provost Frank Ross and First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon.

He was joined by First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, who was also present with the prince at the War Memorial service earlier in the day
Earlier in the day Prince William arrived at the at the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle on Thursday for the Annual Service of Commemoration
The prince had changed out of his earlier military uniform, wearing a sharp navy suit and red tie for his second engagement of the day.
Following the service, William attended the reception and was seen chatting animatedly to attendees.
Celebrations were taking place around the country today, to mark 70 years since the former health minister Aneurin Bevan founded the health service on July 5, 1948.
The ceremonies aimed to show appreciation for the 'everyday heroes' who guide and support the institution.

A service was held at Westminster Abbey to mark the occasion today, and another service was held at Llandaff Cathedral in Wales, attended by Prince Charles.
The NHS is one of the world’s largest employers, with more than 1.5 million staff.
Earlier in the day the Duke of Cambridge was dressed in military uniform as he arrived to present medals to pioneers in the fields of molecular biology, civil engineering and music during a day of royal engagements in Edinburgh.
He was joined by First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, who wore a white blazer and polka dot skirt for the occasion, seen chatting to the prince after the service.
The duke was formally admitted as an honorary fellow of the educational charity before handing out awards to Mr Climie, Nobel Prize-winning scientist Professor Richard Henderson and composer and conductor Dr Thea Musgrave.
David Climie was one of three pioneers given a royal medal at the Royal Society of Edinburgh as William began a day of engagements in the city.
The Duke of Cambridge hailed the 'impressive' Queensferry Crossing after presenting a medal to the famed engineer behind the bridge.

Nobel Prize winner Prof Henderson works in the field of electron microscopy, with his work directly contributing to a revolution in structural biology.
Meanwhile renowned bridge builder Mr Climie oversaw the seven-year Queensferry Crossing construction project.
Composer and conductor Dr Musgrave is considered one of the most influential and successful Scottish composers of her time.
Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Health Secretary Jeane Freeman was also present, and will join the Prince for the reception marking the NHS' 70th anniversary

The celebration will give thanks to NHS staff through the years and all those who have supported the service.
NHS Scotland chief executive Paul Gray will attend the event at the National Museum of Scotland, along with 700 invited guests nominated by Scotland's 14 health boards.

The Prince was seen leaving the service, before heading to attend an evening reception marking 70 years of the NHS.
Earlier on Thursday, the Queen presented a new standard to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) at Leuchars Station in Fife.
Following a parade, the Queen will view equipment and vehicles and meet families at the base.
