Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams seeks to lower $50K monthly child support bill

Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams will ask a judge to reconsider the $50,000-a-month child support total he's been ordered to pay.

Williams, who plays Dr. Jackson Avery on the ABC medical drama, has requested a court modify the outstanding figure, saying that the numbers he presented to the court do not correspond to the fee he's been ordered to pay his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee, according to TMZ.

Williams, 36, is citing an 'error in law' over the total he was ordered to pay for their two children: daughter Sadie, four, and son Maceo, two.

The Chicago native is paying a monthly total of $100,000 to Drake-Lee, half for child support and the other half for spousal support, the outlet reported.

Williams filed for divorce from Drake-Lee in April of 2017, ending a five-year marriage that began when they tied the knot in September 2012.

Drake-Lee 'exaggerates many of our expenses and the children's needs, while also lumping her personal expenses as expenses for the children,' Williams told the court, E! News reported last month.

He said that amid their split, he and Drake-Lee had agreed their 'children should live a simple life without wasting money on extravaganza,' adding that money-saving measures included cooking meals at home and buying furniture from Ikea.

Williams, who said that he would pay for all of their private school tuition, accused Drake-Lee of being disruptive in the co-parenting process.

'A constant theme throughout our divorce proceedings has been Aryn marginalizing me as a father and frustrating my custodial timeshare with the children,' said actor, who was awarded joint physical custody of the two children earlier this year. 'Aryn continues to engage in this type of behavior and punish me for having a career and working hard to provide for our family.'

Since their split, Williams has been romantically linked to New York news anchor Taylor Rooks, and actress Minka Kelly.
