Five miss England training

Five players missed England training on Tuesday morning after sustaining knocks at the weekend.

Gary Cahill, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andros Townsend missed the session on a wet morning at St George's Park, as did Everton duo Leighton Baines and Phil Jagieka.

The quintet were kept out as a precautionary measure but are expected to be available for Saturday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia.

They were not the only notable absentees from the training session at St George's Park.

Danny Welbeck, Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere did a modified training session after playing on Sunday, as did Ross Barkley and Saido Berahino.

The five players started the training session but then went in to do gym work, with Jamaal Lascelles and Jack Robinson brought up from the Under-21s to make up the numbers.
