Australian-born media mogul Rupert Murdoch, 87, and former supermodel Jerry Hall, 62, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in London two years ago.

And it appears the spark is still very much alive in the couple's marriage, as they were seen putting on a loved-up display in the South of France earlier this month.

Swimsuit-clad Jerry helped support her billionaire husband, who is recovering from a back injury, as they enjoyed a refreshing dip in the ocean together.

Perhaps bracing against the chilly temperatures, Rupert winced and held his wife's hand tightly as the waves gently splashed against them.

Jerry showed off her age-defying figure in a chic black one-piece while on holiday, and styled her blonde hair into a messy bun.

The mother-of-four, who was previously in a long-term relationship with Mick Jagger, accessorised with dark sunglasses and an assortment of rings.

However, it appeared Jerry was not wearing her 20-carat diamond engagement ring, believed to be worth £2.4million (AU$4.3million), during the outing.

Meanwhile, Rupert embraced the European summer in a pair of patterned baby blue swimming shorts as he soaked up the sun with his younger wife.

The couple married in an intimate ceremony in London in March 2016, following a whirlwind five-month romance. They later embarked on a honeymoon in France.

Rupert was hospitalised in January after suffering a back injury during a sailing accident aboard his son Lachlan's yacht in the Caribbean.

The businessman has six children from three former marriages: James, 45, Lachlan, 46, Elisabeth, 49, Prudence, 60, Grace Helen, 17, and Chloe, 15.

From her previous relationship with Mick Jagger, Jerry has four children: sons Gabriel, 20, and James, 32, and daughters Georgia May, 26, and Elizabeth Jagger, 44.
