Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called out Trump for being a 'wet noodle' in his 'embarrassing' summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and scolded him saying 'You sold out our country.'
'President Trump I just saw your press conference with President Putin, and it was embarrassing,' Schwarzenegger said, addressing the president in a 45-second clip he posted to Twitter.
'You stood there like a little wet noodle, like a little fan boy. I was asking myself when are you going to ask him for an autograph or a selfie,' but it wasn't just name calling from the former head of California.
He pointedly called out the president for refusing to denounce Russian interference in the 2016 election during Monday's press conference at the Helsinki Summit.
Joint press conference was roundly rebuked as Trump refused to admit Russian interference in the 2016 election and denounced the United States' own intelligence community information
Arnold questioned the president after watching the press conference with Putin at Helsinki Summit- saying he was thinking 'when are you going to ask him for an autograph or a selfie?' and calling his behavior nothing short of 'fan-boying'
'You literally sold out at this press conference our intelligence community, our justice system and worst of all our country,' Schwarzenegger said of Trump's widely perceived attack on the United State's own intelligence community and the Justice Department.
'You're the president of the United States, you shouldn't do that. What is the matter with you?' he questioned in the clip aimed at the president.
The Austrian born, American politician and actor then hearkened back to the words of a then President Ronald Reagan during the Cold War.
'What happened to the strong words, and to the strength of President Reagan when he said ''Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall!'' What happened to all that?' he concluded with a sigh.
Few politicians came to the defense of the president's performance against Putin on the world stage.
Not many defenders: Trump's performance against Putin was mocked abroad and at home, with some people calling it down right treason against the United States- as he denied America's intelligence on Russian interference in the 2016 election
An unlikely figure within the GOP came forward by Tuesday morning- Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
The libertarian lawmaker, who has been a swing vote for Trump's agenda, said that the Republican president had been unfairly hit with an 'onslaught' of allegations since he took office, when it was Hillary Clinton's campaign that is known to have funded a dossier of dirt on her opponent.
Trump promptly rewarded him with a tweet that proclaimed 'you really get it' as he watched the reviews of his performance in Helsinki roll in.
