'They continue to defend a liar who mocks homosexuals for a living': Sarah Palin hits out at Sacha Baron Cohen and Showtime as new billboards slam actor for wounded veteran claim

  • Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was duped into giving an interview to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen
  • During the segment for his new Showtime special, Cohen was disguised as a disabled veteran
  • Former Alaska governor said she stormed out of the interview partway through
  • Conservative street artist Sabo went after Cohen and CBS in a new billboard ad

Sarah Palin is going after Sacha Baron Cohen once more after Showtime called her claims about the filming of his new show Who Is America? false.

'Suck it cupcake,' wrote Sarah on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

'Showtime's latest statement is more BS. They continue to deceive as they have from day 1. They continue to defend (and pay) a man who jokes about raping wives, mocks homosexuals and lies for a living.'

She goes on to claim he did presented himself as someone who had served and was in a wheelchair, thus leading her to believe he was a wounded vet.

At the same time, street artist Sabo has made Cohen his latest target in a guerrilla project that goes after the comedian and Showtime while supporting Palin.

'And a touch of stolen valor.'

Showtime released a statement on Monday after Cohen's new show was received with relatively positive reviews by both viewers and critics in response to Palin's claims.

That statement came after almost a full week of the network refusing to comment.

'In Sunday’s episode, during an interview with Senator Bernie Sanders, Baron Cohen in character as Dr. Ruddick was asked by the Senator if he is disabled, and he stated that he is not and uses a mobility scooter to conserve his energy,' read the statement.

'In addition, Baron Cohen never presented himself as a veteran of the U.S. military to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during the booking process or during the filming of her interview, and contrary to her claims he did not appear in a wheelchair.

'In both the interview with Governor Palin and the interview with Senator Sanders, he did not wear military apparel of any kind.'

Palin used her post to respond to this point by point.

'In Sacha Baron Cohen's letter to me last week he *admits* he identified himself as having served,’ wrote Palin.

'He sat in an electronic wheelchair during the interview - same as he did with Bernie Sanders and Ted Koppel.'

She went on to state: 'I'd offer to any members of the media inquiring to contact his production team - however, they all lied about their names, their backgrounds and their contact information. This same team separated me from my daughter and my phone for this "interview".'

More than one million people have watched the premiere of British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's (left) new show 'Who is America?' in which he portrays four characters that span the American political spectrum (including Col. Erran Morad, an 'anti-terror expert', right)

Palin closed out by writing: 'And to Sacha - suck it up, cupcake. If you are gonna dish it out, better learn to take it.'

The former Alaska governor called Cohen 'sick' and 'evil,' on GMA last Friday and revealed how she eventually stormed out of the interview when he claimed Chelsea Clinton had undergone a 'government funded sex change.'

'It just got worse and worse and worse as the minutes went on in this bizarre, really embarrassing, humiliating interview,' said Palin of her sit-down with Cohen last November.

'It mocked middle class Americans. It mocked our values. It mocked the disabled and it just got worse and worse.'
