Eden Hazard is giving himself some time to reflect after the World Cup by heading on holiday as the Chelsea star weighs up his future. And the 27-year-old has chosen Spain, of all places, to kick back as he continues to be linked with a summer move to Real Madrid. Hazard was pictured with Norwegian fans in the coastal city as he soaked up the sun following a gruelling World Cup campaign with Belgium. Having spent six years at Chelsea, the player himself admitted after the third-place play-off in Russia that it could be time for a change.

Rhian Brewster penned a new long-term contract at Liverpool on Tuesday but in pictures of him celebrating the deal, a quirk on his tattoo was noticed. In one snap of the 18-year-old from the official photoshoot with Liverpool, the tattoo on his left wrist where he has 'your hate makes me unstoppable' written, is visible. It appears Brewster's tattoo artist made a spelling mistake. The word 'unstoppable' is spelt with only one 'p'.

After outlining his plan to grab Carnoustie by the scruff of the neck and blast his way up the leaderboard at The Open this week, Rory McIlroy looked to be enduring a frustrating final practice on the eve of golf's most prestigious tournament. But a day later, it looked as if Carnoustie was already answering back. The Northern Irishman was seen burying his face in his hands at one point, as well as climbing into a thinner part of Barry Burn water hazard that winds and stretches out across the back nine of a course where the world's best will battle for the Claret Jug.

Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin came face to face for the first time ahead of their heavyweight bout at Wembley stadium - but the big talking point became American fighter Jarrell Miller. Known as the 'Big Baby', Miller stormed the stage as Joshua and Povetkin posed in a face-off for photographers and the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight title holder had to be separated from the American. Joshua will fight Povetkin, the man who brutally knocked out David Price on the Joshua-Parker undercard in March, as he continues to defend his belts.

Andres Iniesta has touched down in Japan to begin the next chapter of his career, as he finally links up with Vissel Kobe. The 34-year-old, who announced his retirement from international football following Spain's exit from the World Cup in Russia, has signed a three-year deal with the J1 League side after leaving Barcelona. It is the first time in his professional career that the midfielder will start a season away from the Nou Camp, having come through the club's La Masia academy since the age of 12.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a man of specific taste and, when it came to having a large-scale tattoo across his entire chest, there was only one place the Arsenal striker had in mind. Aubameyang's artist of choice, Alejandro Nicolas Bernal, is based out in the Spanish city of Barcelona and was tasked in putting a day aside for the Arsenal man to drop in, get inked, and get back to London. The 29-year-old took to social media to document the incredible trip, which began from his private jet showing panoramic views of the Barcelona coastline.

Harry Maguire may be enjoying some time off after returning from England duty at the World Cup, but he was not going to miss the 'Battle of Maguire's' at Gainsborough Trinity. The pre-season friendly on Tuesday night saw the 25-year-old's two brothers, Joe and Laurence, face-off as Laurence's Chesterfield took on Trinity. Maguire, hailed for his performances in Russia, drew quite a crowd as supporters waited patiently for photographs and autographs during the half-time break.

Floyd Mayweather is rumoured to be considering a return to the boxing ring but he continues to be invested in his other sporting passion... basketball.  With the NBA in the off-season, basketball superfan Mayweather decided to get himself onto the court by playing in the inaugural $50K charity challenge celebrity basketball game.  Mayweather took to the court at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion to show off his basketball skills and help raise money for multiple charities including Teen Cancer America. 

Manchester United have held their second training session in Los Angeles as Jose Mourinho continues to prepare his players for the new season. United's squad gathered again at the University of California as Mourinho watched over his players as a number of them continue to battle for their futures. The squad flew out to the United States late on Sunday and their first pre-season match is on Friday, against Club America at the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale.

Santi Cazorla finally made his long-awaited return from injury on Tuesday night after spending a nightmare 636 days on the sidelines. The Spanish playmaker had not taken part in a game of professional football since Arsenal's Champions League clash with Ludogorets on October 19, 2016.

The feelgood factor around England's run to the semi-finals at the 2018 World Cup is sure to last all summer. After returning home from Russia on Sunday following their fourth-place finish, Gareth Southgate and his side have been inundated with tributes. The Tour de France hit the Alps for the first time on Tuesday's stage 10, bringing with it the usual site of hoards of people coming perilously close to the riders as the ascend some of the world's steepest roads. One fan came up with a novel way to make it even more perilous by leaping over the road on a mountain bike as the leaders cycled past. Television cameras were following the breakaway during the day's second climb up La Montée du Plateau des Glieres when a mountain-biker came thrashing through the trees and vaulted over the road.

Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappe have rightly generated headlines and won awards, but there has been relatively little fuss about the third 'star' of the tournament – and that's just the way Chelsea's N'Golo Kante likes it. In the last three seasons, Kante has been voted Footballer of the Year, won the Premier League twice, FA Cup, and now the World Cup. While the new boss at Stamford Bridge, Maurizio Sarri, will fret over the futures of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, it's likely he'll view 27-year-old Kante as the one player who is genuinely irreplaceable.
