Designer Diane von Furstenberg claims Viagra is the 'worst thing that's happened to women' in the last 15 years.
The fashion mogul, 71, argued the struggle men faced to 'get it up' in later life used to make it easier for women to come to terms with their own drop in fertility.
She explained that while men can father children long after the end of a woman's childbearing years, there used to be a 'certain fairness' in the sexual playing field as they had to face the reality of becoming impotent.
But the invention of the 'little blue pill' has disrupted this balance and means men don't face the same dilemma as women.

Imbalance: The fashion mogul, 71, pictured with husband Barry Diller, 76, at the 2014 Academy Awards, argued older men's struggle to 'get it up' used to level the sexual playing field at a time in life when women are coming to terms with the end of their childbearing years.
Speaking to The Times, Von Furstenberg, who is married to Barry Diller, 76, said: 'For men it used to be all about getting it up. ''Did I?', 'Can I?'There was a certain fairness. A woman couldn't have a child after 40, right?...
'But the man can could have a child until 65, but sexually, after a while... Now, with Viagra... they just feel... I think Viagra is the worst thing.'

Von Furstenberg, who launched her eponymous label in 1972, has previously admitted she struggles with ageing.
'I pretend that I think aging is wonderful,' she said in an interview with the Washington Post last month.
'And it is. [Yet] I wake up in the morning and say, "I’ve changed." I’ve lived so fully. I should be 140.'

The designer has worried about premature death since she was a young mother, but she admitted that she is thinking about her mortality even more now that she is older.
'When you get to my age, it’s serious,' she said. 'When you get to be 70, then it hits. You’re closer to the end.'
Von Furstenberg first rose to prominence as the wife of German Prince Egon von Furstenberg, who died in 2004.
The pair tied the knot in 1969 and welcomed two children, Alexander, 48, and Tatiana, 47, before divorcing in 1974.

That same year Von Furstenberg launched her first wrap dress - the style that would become her brand's signature and transform her into a household name.
Diane hired Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders as chief creative office of her brand in 2016.
Although she seemed to be taking a step back while he was in charge, Jonathan resigned in December 2017, telling her the brand 'is so much about you.'
In January, Diane brought back designer Nathan Jenden, who helped reinvigorate her DVF when he started working from her in 2001, not long after he finished fashion school.
Recently she revealed her granddaughter Talita von Fürstenberg, 19, daughter of Alexander, as the brand's muse.
