Meghan's father picked up a McDonald's Happy Meal and visited a Bank of America branch and a UPS store. He later bought a bunch of electronics at a Best Buy store before visiting some friends. His birthday celebrations came the day after Meghan and Prince Harry carried out their royal duties by visiting the The Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition in London.

The Trump-Helsinki summit brought new accusations in Congress Thursday, as GOP Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona accused the president of providing 'aid and comfort' to the enemy. Flake and Democratic Delaware Sen. Chris Coons offered an amendment calling for notes from summit and praising Justice Department for its Russia probe. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn blocked the resolution. But Flake let off a blistering speech where he said ''by choosing to reject objective reality in Helsinki, the president let down the free world.'

In a stunning move, Mitch McConnell withdrew Trump judicial nominee Ryan Bounds minutes before a vote on his appointment because Tim Scott voiced doubts on his writings on race. Trump had nominated the assistant U.S. attorney in Oregon to be a judge on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The move is a blow to the White House and a rare example of such a measure. Both Bounds's home state senators signaled objection to him.

The family of April Tinsley (inset), the first grader who was raped and murdered in 1988, came face to face with the young girl's killer after he was finally caught 30 years later. April was raped and strangled to death, and her body was found in DeKalb County, Indiana, three days after she went missing. Police allege she was killed by John Miller (right). Miller, 59, was arrested on Sunday and faced court for the second time on Thursday, where he pleaded not guilty as April's mother Janet (left) sat in the front row, just yards away.

An 18-year-old autistic boy suffered a fatal heat exhaustion episode last Wednesday while on a walk with his caretaker in triple-digit weather. Elijah Mikel had been out for just fifteen minutes at the time he sat down along a trail on Clinton Lake in Lawrence, Kansas where his aide realized something was seriously wrong. The caretaker phoned the teen's parents when Elijah would not get up off the ground. 

Maxine Waters supporters set fire to the American flag outside the Democratic firebrand's Los Angeles office Thursday as way to counter an anticipated protest by a far-right militia group who never showed. A modest few dozen people made their rebellious appearance despite a previous request by the congresswoman that supporters not be baited into confrontation with the Oath Keepers.  South Los Angeles residents joined activist groups as well as union workers, church leaders and more for the midday demonstration.

The move to open the coffin was confirmed by Mostafa Waziri, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt. The stone coffin which was filled with sewer water has been pried open, to reveal the three decomposed bodies within (left). The sarcophagus (top right) was uncovered inside an ancient tomb earlier this month, which also contained a bust made from alabaster whose features had eroded into obscurity. None of the three mummies belong to a Ptolemaic or Roman royal family, as had previously been suggested (bottom right).

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (inset) was seen eating dinner in Beverly Hills alongside a famous porn star. The 26-year-old took Kiara Mia (far left and far right) to Avra, a high-end Greek restaurant. The two were seen walking arm-in-arm and even shared a toast at the table. Afterwards the two left in the same car, and later her Instagram account referenced 'date night' and pinned her location as The Four Season's Hotel Beverly Hills. It isn't known if Garoppolo spent the night with her. Mia's work includes 'Bra Busters 4,' according to TMZ. Garoppolo, who went 2-0 in place of a suspended Tom Brady for the Patriots in 2016, went 5-0 for the previously hapless 49ers after being traded to San Francisco in October. He was rewarded with a five-year, $137.5 million deal to remain the 49ers starting quarterback.

NEW A flurry of tornadoes swept through central Iowa Thursday afternoon, flattening buildings and damaging the courthouse in Marshalltown and hitting an agricultural machinery plant in Pella as people were working. Authorities said a hospital was evacuated and there were some injuries from the storms. Hardest hit appeared to be Marshalltown, a city of 27,000 people about 50 miles northeast of Des Moines, where brick walls collapsed in the streets, roofs were blown off buildings and the cupola of the historic courthouse tumbled 175 feet to the ground.

The Bon Jovi rocker spoke for the first time to DailyMail.com about his ex-wife Heath Locklear, who is currently in a treatment facility following her meltdown and arrest. DailyMail.com has also learned that Locklear will be at long term care residence until September when doctors will access her progress.Sambora also chose to show support for Heather Locklear by taking a fighter plane inscribed with her initials thousands of feet above the skies near her home.

The blast happened at the intersection of 21st Street and 5th Avenue in the Flatiron District. It remains unclear if anyone was injured in the explosion or what caused it. The explosion is believed to have come from a pipe in the street but authorities are working to evacuate people in surrounding buildings. The spokesman described it as a 'high pressure steam leak' but said investigators are yet to conclusively say what caused it.

Known as 'the indigenous man in the hole', the tribesman (pictured) has been captured on video by Government officials in the Brazilian state of Rondonia. They first discovered he was there in 1996 and believe he was left to live alone after the five other members of his tribe were killed in an attack on his land by farmers the year before. He has only been captured on film once before in 1998, for a Brazilian documentary Corumbiara. Now he has been filmed again half naked ferociously trying to fell a tree in his 8,070-hectare jungle garden, where he sleeps in a hut made of trees and spends most of his time hunting forest pigs, birds and monkeys with a bow and arrow. 

The California house made famous by The Brady Bunch could be your personal groovy pad for just $1.9million. The split-level house in Los Angeles' Studio City neighborhood was used as the exterior of the home that Carol and Mike Brady's famously blended family lived in throughout the hit TV series' run from 1969 to 1974. While the TV home's interiors were built on a set in a studio, the exterior of the actual Studio City house featured prominently in the show's 117 episodes, most notably in its credits sequences. As a result, the two-bedroom, three-bathroom house is said to be the second most-photographed home in the United States, preceded only by the White House, according to listing agents Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Netflix's first original home improvement show, Amazing Interiors, is set to unveil some incredible hidden gems by stepping inside the homes of people who have completely transformed their spaces to reflect their passions and personal aesthetics. The series, which is scheduled to premiere on Friday, will feature breathtaking transformations such as the one conducted by Massachusetts residents Bruce and Melanie Rosenbaum, who turned an old church in Palmer into a steampunk-themed house (top left and bottom left). Among the creative homeowners are Dino and Marianne, who bought the top floor of a 1960s tower block that was once used as student nurses accommodation, and converted it into a luxury penthouse in Maastricht, Netherlands (top right and bottom right). Camille Hoerner and her four friends had been travelling aboard the FrontRunner train to attended the Twilight Concert in Ogden on Tuesday when they were approached by the Utah Transit Authority employee. The member of staff has since been placed on paid administrative leave while the UTA investigate. Hoerner said that the incident began when she and her friends visited the the bathroom on the train together. She explained they needed to go together to share menstrual supplies, and because they'd had 'weird situations' happen in the past when using public restrooms.

Lana and Tim Whitner were moving from Illinois to Florida when they stopped in Indianapolis. Three suspects hopped in their SUV and fled. Inside was Wrigley, their service dog who is trained to sense 'oncoming seizures and migraines'. Police used the Find My iPhone app to track the car down, but Wrigley wasn't inside. Using tips from the community they narrowed down possible locations and Tim left out one of his shirts. The scent attracted Wrigley, who was found by an officer and reunited with his family.

Archaeologists in the Dutch city of Amsterdam found almost 700,000 items left behind when the city's Amstel river was drained to make way for a new train line (main). A comb from the 1500s (top right), a set of crocodile teeth and an entire human thigh bone and a mobile phone from the 1990s (bottom right) are among the things pulled from the river bed during a 15-year-long research project. Around 20,000 of the objects found by the team of excavators, led by DrJerzy Gawronski, have been logged on the Belowthesurface.amsterdam website.

At one point in the horrifying clip, the woman is seen throttling one of the babies while saying: 'Today I will kill you.' It is believed the woman took the video and sent it to her estranged husband's father in Yemen to blackmail him. It is believed that the twins will now be returned to the family of the father.

NEW During Tuesday's installment, Mary Nielsen plummeted to the ground as her husband and partner, Tyce, lost grip of her after their impressive trapeze act. The Utah-based acrobatic couple Duo Transcend explained exactly went wrong during their death-defying act. 'Well, we wanted to step up our act, so we added some new elements that we've never worked with before with the fire and a blindfold,' Mary said. 'In practice, everything went fine, and then during the audition, the worst possible thing happened.' It turns out Tyce, who was blindfolded during the point in the performance when the incident happened, has a progressive eye condition called keratoconus and said that he and Mary were using music and verbal cues to communicate.

Brad and Rachael Reed from Dumas, Texas, are expecting their third baby later this year. On July 8, the couple, who are already parents to a boy and a girl, gathered their friends and family at an airbase to find out what gender their new arrival would be. They had asked Brad's friend, aerial crop duster David Sykes, to take part in the stunt.

A doting dad surprised his daughter with the ultimate dinosaur treat — bringing Jurassic Park to life in their backyard. Las Vegas stagehand Lyle Coram, 48, rigged up projectors, screens and lighting to bring lush Jurassic jungles to life in arid Nevada and then captured on video the moment that his seven-year-old daughter, Shelby Coram, first laid eyes on his astonishing work. In the video, Shelby stands in front of the sliding glass doors, which appear to look out onto a verdant jungle landscape. Moments later, a trio of velociraptors run past. Then, what appears to be a baby brachiosaurus and its mom, appear to munch leaves off trees. A triceratops also lumbers past at one point.

Heidi Zherelyev, 25, staged a surprise for her groom Valentin Zherelyev, on their big day in Pinetop, Arizona, last month. The pair eloped privately five years ago and decided to renew their vows during a second wedding day in Pinetop, Arizona, this time surrounded by their families and loved ones. As the important moment grew nearer, Heidi noticed Valentin seemed nervous — and decided that a prank would be the perfect way to take the edge off. She asked her brother Eric Dodds, 30, to put on an old wedding dress (top inset) before taking her place in what was supposed to be her first look with Valentin. Eric, clad in a floor-length white gown, thus walked up to Valentin, who thought he was about to turn around to see his bride in her wedding dress. Known as Przewalski's horses, the ancient species has narrowly avoided extinction thanks to breeding programmes at zoos worldwide and is now gradually being re-introduced to a wildlife reserve in its original homeland (main). The four round-bellied, short-legged, sandy-beige mares are set to join wild herds in Takhin Tal (meaning the wild horse steppe), where 220 Przewalski's horses now gallop free. Prague Zoo has released a total 31 Przewalski's horses into the Mongolian wilderness by tranquilizing them (bottom right) and shipping them out to Mongolia (top right), with funding for the project provided by zoos from across the globe.
