Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth join their bikini-clad wives Luciana and Elsa for luxury family cruise in Spain

They are no longer neighbours, after Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso decided to move back to the States following four months in Australia. 

Yet the Hollywood couple proved they are still just as close with Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky as they holidayed together with their children whilst cruising around San Sebastian in Spain on Thursday.

Enjoying the high life on the high seas, the A-list couples seemed in great spirits as they soaked up the sunshine before jumping into the water to frolick with their children.

Showing off her sensational figure, Luciana, 42, sizzled in a navy bikini that showed off her incredibly taut abs and ample cleavage. 

Meanwhile, Elsa, 42, also looked incredible in a paisley kaftan before stripping down to a scanty two-piece to leap into the ocean. 

Whilst Matt, 47, seemed to be enjoying the sunshine on dry land as he topped up his tan from the deck, Chris, 34, was seen loving life in the water as he splashed around with the children.

Matt and his Luciana recently moved back home to the United States with their children after spending four months at a $4million rental home in Byron Bay.

The Good Will Hunting star took out a lease at a lavish Broken Head property down under next to close pal Chris and his wife Elsa in April. 

Matt and Luciana, 42, stayed there with their brood: Isabella, 11, Gia, nine, Stella, six, and Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship Alexia, 18.

Meanwhile, Chris and Elsa swapped the bright lights of Los Angeles for the tranquility of Byron Bay several years ago.

They had been talking about raising their kids in Australia for a while before selling up and making the move in 2014.

The couple share three children together: daughter India Rose, six, and four-year-old twin boys Tristan and Sasha.

Chris hasn't been Down Under for a while though, however, as he was recently in London, England filming the Men In Black spin-off.

The original movie was released in 1997 and saw Will Smith and Tommy Lee-Jones, who are not set to star in the movie, playing members of a secret organization, known as the Men in Black, and protected Earth from intergalactic bad guys.

Chris was initially linked to the film back in February when speculation grew that he would be joining the franchise following his Thor: Ragnarok success.

Also confirmed to be joining the cast is Chris’ Thor co-star Tessa Thompson, who also starred in the last season of Westworld, as his alien-fighting partner, as well as Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall.

Director F. Gary Gray is onboard to direct the film as Sony develop the reboot which is set for release in June 2019.

As Chris has been hard at work starring in films, Matt has been getting himself cut from them.

The A-lister, who played conman Linus Caldwell in the Ocean’s series, had his cameo axed from the all-female spin off, Ocean's Eight months after making controversial comments on the #MeToo movement,  

The Boston native, speaking with the Toronto Sun in February, downplayed his involvement in the motion picture, which includes an all-star cast of female performers including Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Awkwafina and Sarah Paulson. 

'It’s just a very small cameo,' he told the newspaper. 'I’m not really in the movie a lot ... this is a movie about the women.'

The star of films such as Goodwill Hunting, The Departed and The Bourne Identity said that he 'only worked for a day' on the movie, as he 'really wanted to support the project and support these awesome actresses.'

While it was not immediately clear what the reason behind Damon's removal was, he fell under fire after a December interview with Popcorn with Peter Travers in which he said there was a 'spectrum of behavior' in terms of sexual harassment in Hollywood.

'I think we’re in this watershed moment. I think it’s great. I think it’s wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories, and it’s totally necessary … I do believe that there’s a spectrum of behavior, right?' he said. 

'And we’re going to have to figure - you know, there’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?'
