Liam purchased his LA pad in 2015 for a hefty £8 million, and listed it for rent in April 2017 - making around £32,000 a month for the five bedroom, eight bathroom mansion.

However back in October 2017, the former One Direction star claimed the pad was haunted, and revealed Cheryl refused to sleep beside him in the bedroom.

Speaking to The Sun, he explained a random woman had approached his mother on the street to inform him the ghost of the previous owner resides in the property.

He said: 'Cheryl wouldn't stay in the top room, being pregnant with the baby. I've seen lights go on and off in the middle of the night and a few little creepy things, like taps turning on and off.

'If you don’t believe in it, I don’t think it can get to you. But Cheryl was like, 'I'm not sleeping upstairs'. So we slept downstairs in the cinema room. First World problems.'

Liam first put the property up for sale as rumours began to surface his relationship with Cheryl was 'strained', now following their announcement that they have split, it seems he has focused his attentions back on shifting the property.

Cheryl and Liam, 24, announced their split on July 1 following a two-and-a-half year relationship amid mounting speculation that all was not well, having not been seen together since the BRITs in London in February when they put on a show of unity.

Their statement read: 'We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through.'

Cheryl and Payne first met on The X Factor in 2008, when she was a judge and he auditioned as a solo contestant, then 14 years old, before he became part of One Direction.

It's understood that Liam has already moved out of the lavish £5million mansion he shared with Cheryl and Bear in leafy Surrey.

Cheryl was handed a decree nisi ending her marriage to her second husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini at the Central Family Court in London in October 2016 after tying the knot two years before. She divorced first husband Ashley Cole in 2010 following a four year marriage.
