CBS replaces Pauley Perrette, 49, with Diona Reasonover, 26, as NCIS' chief forensic scientist

NCIS recurring guest star Diona Reasonover replaced veteran castmember Pauley Perrette as the JAG spin-off's chief forensic scientist in the upcoming 16th season, which is now in production.

CBS announced the Detroit-born 26-year-old's series regular promotion as Donald 'Dr. Duck' Mallard's (David McCallum) protégée Kasie Hines on Wednesday via Twitter.

'Thanks so much for all the love!' the CalArts grad triumphantly tweeted on Thursday.

The New Orleans-born 49-year-old was alerted that her fan favorite character Abby's time was over by producers way back in 2016, and her 354th (and final) episode aired May 8.
