David Walliams pokes fun at Simon Cowell's cosmetic surgery as he claims he looks like he's had 'an accident'

He's known for his tongue-in-cheek comments both on and off the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent

And David Walliams was back to doing what he does best as he poked fun at his co-judge and friend Simon Cowell's cosmetic surgery.

The Little Britain star, 46, didn't hold back during a radio interview as he spoke about his boss, 58, who has always been open about his love for Botox, and quipped that he looks like he's had 'an accident'.

He joked: 'His face has always changed. Something has happened. You think, "What has gone on? What exactly? Did you have a terrible accident or something?"'

'Yeah, he always looks a bit different,' he playfully added.

David went on to tease that he doesn't hear from Simon outside of Britain's Got Talent filming, with The X Factor judge apparently only getting in touch during the show.

He added: 'We are friends when the show is being made. He will sort of invite you out for dinner and you think, "This is great I am having dinner with Simon Cowell."

'And then you don’t hear from him for six months when the show is not on and then he will be back in touch in January.'

David's comments come after Simon admitted he had splashed out on a non-surgical facelift in a bid to maintain his incredibly smooth visage, which is reported to have cost around £2,000.

The music mogul is said to have visited cosmetic surgeon Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, known as the 'Picasso of dermatology', for a Silhouette Soft Lift, which promises to create a more 'youthful' appearance.

Simon told The Sun on Sunday: 'There's lots of things you can do now, you don't just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox.

'It hurts like hell but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the c**p.

'For me now, it's all about having clean skin, if you have clean skin, you look better.'

The method (also known as a 'one stitch face lift') uses an absorbable thread with cones to lift the facial skin and encourage collagen production. The unwanted excess skin is pulled back by the underlying muscle.

The threads are 'stitched' on to the neck, brow or mid-face and promise to create a fresher, more youthful appearance.

MailOnline contacted Simon's representatives for comment at the time.

It seems the X Factor creator has opted for non-surgical procedures after realising he'd overdone botox when Sharon Osbourne also made a joke about his face not moving back in 2015.

Speaking about his age-defying attempts and grooming secret, The X Factor boss revealed that his friend's gag had prompted him to give up the treatment.

Speaking unabashedly about the treatment and his views on it, he told The Mirror: 'Hopefully I look better now – I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it.'
