A dad may have just the dad of the year award for coming up with an inventive way to push his daughter on the swing while sitting down and continuing to drink his beer.

On Wednesday Reddit user ciocanmihai shared a short clip of a man pushing his child on the swing with the caption: 'Dad of the year.'

And while it may sound like a normal case of fatherhood, spending time with his kid, the video showed the man sitting on the other side of the yard, sipping his beer while he used a extremely long string to pull his baby from across the yard.

The brief video has already gotten hundreds of comments from other Reddit users, with most finding the creativity hilarious and others coming up with more inventive ideas to push kids on the swing.

One person jokingly wrote: 'This will hurt your shoulder way more than it'll hurt your feet. He should tether the swing to some kind of motor.'

And another person suggested that next time, he sit next to his while he simultaneously drinks beer and pushes his kid on the swing.

'That's some low quality Dad-ing,' the comment said. 'Take one of those single-seater chairs, set it near the swing, drink your beer next to the kid. Mom can't complain, you've got your beer, and you're spending time with your potato.'

And more people chimed in with hilarious comments making fun of the ingenious dad and his kid.

One comment said: 'Therapist: "So you've said your father was distant when you were very young, could you elaborate on that?" Patient: "I can't say I'm the best judge, but maybe 50 feet?"'

And another person shared their support for the dad in a comment that simply said: 'See that boys. That’s a man with a plan.'

But this isn't the first time a dad has decided to get creative when left with their children.

In hilarious posts found online and on Reddit, fathers shared photos that reveal exactly what they get up to when they're left in charge of the children - and the hilarious snaps will most likely terrify their other halves.

As the video and photos compiled from around the web and posted on Reddit attest, all hell can break loose when dads are left in charge.
