Danny Dyer has admitted he made some mistakes in the early days of his romance with Joanne Mas.

Speaking to The Mirror, the 41-year-old EastEnders star said he learned some hard lessons about loyalty in his younger years when he and Joanne dated as teenagers.

It comes as he said he hopes to see his daughter Dani become a wife before he and Joanne renew their wedding vows, ahead of her exit from the Love Island villa with beau Jack Fincham.

Speaking about his rocky-at-times relationship with Joanne, 41, Danny said he takes full responsibility for some of the rough patches in his relationship, but they have come out of the other side stronger than ever.

He said: 'Young men, and I was guilty of it myself, you don’t quite know about loyalty and commitment and you just sort of go with whatever your head is telling you and it’s not the best decision to make. But you’ve got to learn that from a young age.

'Me and Jo are going to be together for ever. Abso-f******-lutely. Completely. We will probably renew our wedding vows. I want to see my Dani tie the knot first, whenever that will be.'

He went onto praise their 22-year-old daughter Dani for how she handled herself in the villa, saying things couldn't be better for their family as she prepares to leave the Love Island.

Danny's gushing about Dani comes as fans anticipate the moment he finally meets her beau Jack Fincham in the villa, as the Meet The Parents segment is set to air on Sunday.

In a fleeting preview shown on Friday's show Dani is seen laughing as Danny questions Jack over Skype alongside wife Joanne, with the couple currently on holiday in Florida with their two younger children Sunnie, 11, and Arty, five.

Despite having his doubts about her entering the villa, Danny said he is proud of Dani during her time in the villa, as she and Jack are currently favourites to take the top prize in Monday's final.

He said he's keen to finally meet Jack upon the couple's exit from the villa, adding that he's glad the couple decided to wait to have sex until after they leave the show.

Danny also hinted he'd love to see the pair get married in the future, but added he's in no rush to see his daughter become a wife.
