Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown will return to CNN for a final series but only one episode will be narrated by the late star
- The 12th series has seven episodes and will return to CNN in the late fall

- One episode, which was filmed in Kenya, includes his narration but the others do not
- It is not known if the scenes filmed before his death in France in June will be included

Anthony Bourdain's beloved food travel show Parts Unknown will return to CNN for a final series and include one episode which was narrated by the star before he committed suicide in June.
The 12th series will begin in late fall but a premiere date is yet to be set. It will comprise of seven episodes; five in which Bourdain appears and two in which he does not.
The final two will show first how the producers made the series in the wake of his death and the final episode will reflect on how he impacted the world.
Before he died, he narrated an episode that had been filmed in Kenya with TV host W. Kamau Bell in March.
He also filmed in Manhattan, Mexico, Bali, Texas and Spain but did not have a chance to add his signature voice over to those scenes before he died.

It is unclear if any of the films scenes in Alsace, France, in the days before he died will be used.
A CNN spokesman told DailyMail.com on Wednesday that they could not provide intricate details of the series, but said: 'We can confirm that there will be a new, seven-episode season of Parts Unknown premiering in fall 2018 (date TBA), which includes one episode with Bourdain’s narration – Kenya with W. Kamau Bell (title TBA).
'It will be similar in format to previous Parts Unknown episodes. '

'They will have the full presence of Tony because you’ll see him, you’ll hear him, you’ll watch him.

In this May 27 picture, Bourdain appears with his girlfriend Asia Argento in Italy. They spent several days together in her home country before he resumed filming in France.
'That layer of his narration will be missing, but it will be replaced by other voices of people who are in the episode,' CNN's executive vice president of talent and content Amy Entelis told The Los Angeles Times.
CNN is yet to find a replacement for the show but network bosses are eager to find something which embodies his spirit take the slot.
'What Tony did was inimitable. What we want to do is find a show that captures what Tony is all about,' she added.
Bourdain hanged himself in the bathroom of his hotel room in Kaysersberg, France, on June 8.
Parts Unknown began in 2013 and was among the first shows picked up by CNN Original Series.

At the time, Bourdain had overcome drug addiction and had found success with his book about the realities of working as a chef.
He had been working on the Travel Channel when CNN decided to hire him.
In June, he had just spent several days with his girlfriend, the actress Asia Argento, in Italy when he traveled to France to continue filming.
Days before Bourdain's death, photographs emerged of her with another man in Italy.
He was found in his hotel bathroom on June 8 by a longtime friend Éric Ripert.
