Alvaro Morata switches to No 29 at Chelsea to mark birth of twins

Alvaro Morata is no longer Chelsea's No 9, the FA Cup holders confirmed on Friday afternoon. But he has not been sold, rather just decided to swap shirt numbers in order to mark a special family moment during the 2018/19 season. Chelsea revealed via their official website that striker Morata would henceforth wear the No 29 after the birth of twin boys Alessandro and Leonardo, who arrived on July 29.

West Ham 1-0 Angers: Javier Hernandez scores for Manuel Pellegrini's side

WEST HAM 1-0 ANGERS: West Ham continued their preparations for the new campaign with a 1-0 victory over Angers in Austria on Friday, with Javier Hernandez on the scoresheet.  Manuel Pellegrini's side proved too strong for their opponents to cope with, and Hernandez found the net in the 23rd minute as he found the top corner after latching onto Aaron Cresswell's cross. West Ham started the game in positive fashion and almost took the lead early on when Marko Arnautovic found Felipe Anderson, but the new signing saw his effort saved by Mathieu Michel.

AC Milan new boy Gonzalo Higuain says that the only person at Chelsea who wanted him was Maurizio Sarri. The 30-year-old has just made a season-long loan move to AC Milan.

Fulham have asked about taking Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez, 20, on loan. They have also enquired after Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet at Sampdoria.
