Operation Midas

(legendarily rich king of Phrygia in the second millennium BC)

This was a British intelligence operation in which the sum of £20,000 was transferred from Germany via an uninvolved third party supposedly to pay the double agent 'Tate' and other German agents in the UK (1941).
