Lindsay Lohan announces she wants to co-star with Meryl Streep in live action Little Mermaid
Former child star Lindsay Lohan has put in her second bid in six months to star in a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
The 32-year-old SAG Award nominee tagged Disney in an Instagram of 16-year-old mermaid Ariel alongside villainous sea witch Ursula on Monday with the caption: 'My dream role with Meryl Streep.'
The six-time rehabbed redhead famously co-starred with the 69-year-old acting legend as a mother-daughter singing act in Robert Altman's final film A Prairie Home Companion during her 2006 hey-day.

But Lindsay hasn't headlined a feature film that grossed more than $100K in the States since the dismally-reviewed 2007 thriller I Know Who Killed Me, and the three-time Oscar winner loathes playing 'old crones.'
There's three live-action adaptations of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale in the works - Disney's with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Universal's with Chloë Grace Moretz, and Kingsway Productions' with Shirley MacLaine.
Long Island-raised Lilo certainly has a long history with Disney, having starred in the studio's Freaky Friday remake which earned $160.8M in 2003 and Herbie: Fully Loaded which earned $144.1M in 2005.
The former wild child also headlined The Parent Trap in 1998, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen in 2004, as well as Disney Channel movies Get a Clue from 2002 and Life-Size in 2000.
